Yesterday was divine; we visited the 'God' of Pune--Dagdusheth Halwai. It had been years and years that we had visited, or for that matter, went out in the streets of Pune to watch different idols and mandaps of Pune. As the society has its own Ganpati, there are crazy dances, singing, games, dramas, etc. to entertain the society members. We used to be so busy, that going out in evenings was an impossible task.
But luckily, yesterday we did not have any program in the society; so we all decided to go to the Dagdusheth.
After having bhel for dinner, we left the house at around 9:30. I knew it would be kind of cold outside, so I borrowed my cousin brother's hoodie. I also wore my specs because I knew I would need them to see Ganpati properly.
We left in our Polo and an Activa. Thankfully it wasn't raining. I had carried my camera, and I did not want it to get wet or make things worse.
We reached an parked the car and Activa. Then, by walking we reached the queue for Dagdusheth Halwai--Pune's pride.

Every year, without fail, we go to Pune for Ganesh Chaturthi. This is my favorite festival. And I wait for it the whole year. The main reason is family get-together. Do you have such family and cousins that seem more than the real definition of them? Well, I have. We are all so close to each other, and we have such a great bond, that sometimes I feel is it even possible? I mean, seriously.
So this year, though we are not really celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, as my granny passed away last September, and as a year is not completed, it is in Hindu tradition to not celebrate festivals for a year after a close relative's death. We did not celebrate last year's Diwali due to the same reason.
Anyway I'm writing the post from Pune and the Ganesh idol will be set up in a while. The Guruji is directing my brother who is sitting on the plank, carrying out the puja. My sisters and the youngest brother are here, inside the room. I'm pretty bored, as we all are dolled up, but the Guruji came an hour late. We just cannot wait to see the pretty idol, and then sing prayers with all the relatives, really tearing off our eardrums and vocal chord! (I'm serious.)
Our idol is small this year. Though we have it small or medium every year, this year's idol is smaller. Anyway, I always find my idol the best amongst all (and I know you all feel the same about yours!).
After the setting up of Ganpati, and unveiling him, we sang our prayers really loud. After that, as soon as the Guruji went, we took dishes and bowls and all the yummy food for lunch. We had lunch at 3:00; unbelievable but true.
We had potato bhaji, ukdiche modak, poli, waran (dal) rice, koshimbir (salad), chutney, etc.
After that, we all cousins went straight to one of the rooms, and 'booked' places to spend the rest of the afternoon. Everybody slept, except few people--I was reading eBook and later blogging, my younger sister was on her cellphone, and my younger brother was playing Age of Empires on the PC. Rest, every single person of the house was fast asleep.
Some clicks from Day one of Ganpati:

For those who don't know, the idol is brought home with its face covered. All the rituals are carried out, and only then the veil is taken off.
After the veil is removed, the idol is still not placed on its throne. The further rituals are carried out, and only then the idol is placed on the throne, with a "Ganpati Bappa Moraya; Mangal Murti Moraya!" shouts.

The battery is critically low, so I cannot write any further. We just visited Dagdusheth Ganpati, and it was awesome!
Goodnight, everybody!

Well, I'm currently reading The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. Like I've told million times on TPCG that I'm not into reading, I say it again: I'm not into reading...let's amend that...I'm not into reading, but if I develop interest in the book, I finish reading it in three days. I'm reading the famous TFIOS, and I'm just wondering what the 'Okay? Okay.' thing actually is. Well, I guess I just need to hold on and read further.
So I'm back with the fourth list of bookmarks. Nobody suggested me anything on the previous list's question, so I would probably continue doing what I am doing already (but the suggestions are still welcomed).

This is just another I-need-to-start-reading list of mine. While I was going through a post on Cosmo, I happened to open this link and try getting myself a list for some serious inspiration towards reading, without much struggle for my lazy self.
These are some great hacks for people interested in diet; well, if not just diet, at least, all those who love to expand their knowledge. Here are some hacks that you probably didn't know earlier. And, for the first time, a fashion magazine has an acceptable scientific language other than the regular jargon that women and fashion magazines use.
THREE | Why You Should Write Your First Book...Now!
Did I tell you that I was writing a book last year? Well I was. I stopped writing it after finishing around 20 pages. Maybe I might start rewriting it.
If you have writing book in your mind, but haven't yet started typing, you must read this.

This is a serious self-help link. Few things that you might need to feel happy about yourself and love yourself in order to boost your self-confidence.
I don't know why, but I like reading these self-help and how-to books; they're amazing.
If you're heading for hostel or rented apartment for education, this list is a quick help. Though few of the items are not really 'Indian', but you can relate them to some other item, and carry them to your hostel room or apartment.
I don't know how serious this post is. As I live with my parents, I never had an issue of saving money or investing them or cleverly spending them or any of the monetary issues. But if you fall in the category of people who have to think about money, you should read this post.
This is a fun way to check etiquette of the whole world. I tried India, China, UK, and UAE, and they're true to some extent.
Only five rules, but totally important. You gotta go and check for a decent behavior with employees for better production.
Ha ha! These are some crazy idioms. My personal favorite is 'It is raining like a pissing cow.'
This is an awesome guide! You all must stick to these rules for better behavior towards your friends, colleagues, family, and strangers.

We're soon going to paint the house down. This time I'm going to make some serious changes in my room. I have decided pink, light grey, golden, and white-and-black as the theme of the room. I will paint/throw/change all the things that are not of this theme. I'm going to put frames and I'm all excited!
Yesterday, me and my brother were thinking about frames, and that's when he said we could do DIY frames. He asked me to search on the net for the ideas, but instead, I showed him on Pinterest. I don't know how girls are successful in finding ideas on Pinterest; for me, Pinterest is just a way to look at different pictures, but not enjoy them.
We dropped the idea of the DIY frames. I told him I would buy three (or four) white coloured frames, and print images myself and nail them on my room's wall. He said he would do something similar.
As currently my head has things related to room and its decoration, I thought I should throw away the unnecessary things from the storage shelf, and re-arrange the things inside it. That's when I found this idea:
This has been my best DIY project till now.
1 | Take any quote/picture you want to frame, and print it, or take it from some other source.
I've taken this image from Google. Here are some quotes you might like:
I've chosen white background simply because I printed my quote at home itself and I had to save the ink. You can experiment with different colours if you want.
2 | Take the thermocol box that comes with electronics or cutlery. Mine was of cups, so it came with partitions. I used my Maped cutter to remove the partitions...
...and smoothen the edges.
3 | Measure the box leaving few centimeters along the edges. Mine is a 25.5 x 15.5 cms box.
4 | Take cardboard and your quote, and mark with pencil the area that needs to be cut. Cut both cardboard and the quote.
5 | First try to fit the cardboard inside. You may realize that the cardboard is either too large to fit, or too short; so cut accordingly. TIP: Cut half an inch, try to fit inside, if it doesn't, cut half an inch again, try to fit...do it until it fits correctly. You don't want to cut extra by presuming the size, and then massively regretting later. So go on calmly on it and have some patience.
6 | Take both the papers (cardboard and quote), and stick them together. You might be required to cut the quote from beneath to match the size of the cardboard.
7 | Put the quote and cardboard (which is stuck to one another) inside the box.
8 | Decorate your frame: You can either paint the frame, or add such ribbons or glitter. I took this ready-made ribbon-bow from the old hello kitty gift bag that I used as cardboard.
Finally, choose an appropriate place, and place the frame.
It will remind you of your hard work and you'll feel proud. Also, the quote or images on it will always keep you inspired. I purposely chose this quote, as it will inspire me while writing blog.
You can keep your favourite bottles of nail polishes, or some other miscellaneous things...
...or you can simply use one of your worktop supplies as the paperweight for your light (thermocol) frame.
I did not keep the bottle or the mini elephant on the top, but kept these extra papers/index cards along with stick notes to act like a paperweight.
I am so happy after the frame. This was 100% genuine idea, and I'm proud of myself!

I wanted to write about it since long, but the images I had clicked for it got deleted long back. So finally today I clicked pictures again, and thus I can write a post on it.
The worktop is changed yet again. I've placed this little basket near the pencil stands.
This is such a sweet, little place for keeping the little guy.
These are the things that are currently inside the basket-
This basket comes super handy. The fact that it has pinkish shade is something that matches my bedroom walls. I loved this easy trick.
And guess where I found this basket? My neighbors had given prasad in it. Who knew I would use that basket in such a way?
How do you organize u-pins, binder clips, and other pins near your desk?
xoxo
