The Pretty City Girl | Indian Travel & Lifestyle Blog

For Communication Theories paper, we have media and communication related theories. Few of them are so difficult to understand; I mean, I surely understand all the sentences that speak about the theories, but unless and until I'm satisfied with the explanation, I simply cannot jump to the next topic.

I went to YouTube and searched for the theories' explanation there; to my surprise, I understood them very well. I'll share a couple of videos explaining different theories, just so that you know how splendid videos work in actuality.

In the words of Walt Disney,
"Of all our inventions for mass communication, pictures still speak the most universally understood language."
Indeed, these videos have proved this quote to be apt.

Cognitive Dissonance Theory

Argumentation Theory

Semiotics Theory

Have you tried studying from videos? How helpful did you find them?
xoxo

P.S. I will write the blog on the 4th of December, i.e., after the completion of my exams, directly. The papers are back to back, hence I won't have enough time to study or write TPCG.

If you're like me who uses tons of supplies while studying, you must really be needing a pouch or a pencil-stand to keep the supplies together. While studying, you often change your places; e.g., you sit on the PC table, then you shift on bed, then in the living room, and then in the kitchen...because, why not?
While doing so, shifting all your supplies can be difficult. To overcome this problem, I have a tip!

Use buckets like these, and keep all your supplies together. Carrying this bucket from place to place is an easy task too. (Plus, you can look at its prettiness, whenever studies seem boring!)

I have used the bucket by Pink Mud.

I have stuck two magnetic pins and then have stuck u-pins on the magnets for an easy access. I also have clipped the binder clips on the edge of the bucket, for an ease of access, again.

Here are the things inside my bucket:

  • Magnetic Pins - 2
  • U-pins - 3
  • Binder Clips - 2
  • Eraser
  • TPCG Business Card
  • Stick Notes - 2
  • Mini Notepad
  • Kailas Jeevan
  • Orange Highlighter
  • Pens - 5
  • Pink Pen
  • Pencil
  • Yellow Highlighter
  • Pair of Scissors
  • Tin Box (that consists of extra u-pins and binder clips)
  • Glasses
  • Tape
  • Glue Stick
Do ask me in the comments below if you want to know any specific detail. Also, due to exams, I might not write daily. I will be back post exams, i.e., 4th December onward.

Keep reading TPCG, and request an exam related post, if you want any!

Lots of love!

So yesterday, having studied 26 questions from my tab, my eyes were sore. While sleeping, I had applied this super-cream--Kailas Jeevan. I wanted to share about this cream because I felt totally relieved, as I had applied it on my eyes and had got a blissful sleep.

Regardless of whether you keep the cream inside the refrigerator or no, the cream will always be cold and will refresh you, no matter where you apply it.

As your exams are approaching, I'm sure you'll pull all-nighters. It is advisable to apply this on your eyes and then sleep, if at all you sleep, that is.

I hope you're studying well!

Hi! I've been studying since morning 10:30 and I will go crazy in sometime. I've just taken two breaks for lunch and tea, which were very short. My exams are commencing from the 1st of December, which means I just have a week to study. I started studying since yesterday evening. I have realized how little time is left and that I must work hard to at least read once of what's there in the portion, which is absurdly vast.

For knowing if I have completed all that's there in portion and to know how much to study, I have equally divided the portion of all the subjects into days, and have made a checklist, which would act like my schedule.

For making the checklist, here are the things you'll need:

  • Tinted Sheet
  • Long Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Pen
  • Different Coloured Pen

Of my Media Economics paper, our professor has given 100 questions, thankfully, with their answers. Out of those, I had studied five yesterday, which means 95 more are left. I divided 95 by seven (days), which resulted in 14 questions approximately for one day. Since morning, I have successfully finished today's quota for this subject.

Next, for Media Criticism, I have 70 questions, out of which I had studied four. So I divided 64 by seven, which accounted to 10 per day approximately. I am done with four until now, and as my cousin brother is home, I have taken a break to talk to him and write blog. He has come home to give me his 12th standard's Economics textbook, which I'll need for Media Economics paper.

Next, for Communication Theories paper, there are 22 theories, along with other general questions. Out of those, I had studied two for the internals. I divided remaining 20 by seven, and so I have to study two theories per day.

There's another paper, Reporting and Editing, which I am not gonna study before the exams start, as I had studied most of it in the first and third years of BMM. I hope this is a wise decision and that I get some more information before the exam begins.

This checklist has been a reliever. I really love it when I check a box after completing with an answer. You guys too make one, and set a schedule for yourself. And yeah, please wish me luck, as I badly need it.

Best of luck for your exams!

On 13th, we left for Kolhapur, which was the day of Bhaubeej. On Bhaubeej, sisters rotate a plate of diya and rice (which I call as conducting a pooja, here on TPCG) in front of their brothers. In exchange, brothers gift something to their sisters. As a token of love, we sisters too gift them something.

For this evening, I had worn a saree, which I had earlier chosen for Narak Chaturdashi. But as it was less bling-y, I had to purchase a new one. I was too excited to try this saree out. After the Bhaubeej ritual, we went to one of the malls there, and had a light supper at the McDonald's. The evening was lovely!

In Maharashtra, we celebrate Padwa as a day when the wives scrub the bodies of their husbands with oil and utna powder, bathe them, and then in the evening, conduct pooja and in return get gifts!

This day has nothing to do with unmarried people, yet we enjoyed. My cousins, their grandfather, uncle, and aunt had come home, as it was my cousin brother's birthday. The married people carried out the pooja ceremony, and then my cousin cut the cake. We later went to a restaurant for dinner, and reached their home after 12:00 am.

Today, I won't just share the pictures of the Laksmi Poojan evening, but also the pictures we clicked during our travel from Mumbai to Pune. We had left for Pune immediately, on the second day, i.e., after Narak Chaturdashi. We left at around 10:30 in the morning, and we reached the destination unbelievably earlier. After reaching, we lunched in a hotel.

We were so relaxed, that we halted halfway to click a selfie; 't was fun!

Mandir at home; Lakshmi Poojan was carried out here.

The bungalow is adorned with bright lights.

My try at Rangoli!

We purchased this diya for Rs. 80.

Another try by me!

Hi! Finally I'm back to Mumbai, which means I'm back to internet and computer. I couldn't access the internet (or the PC) either in Kolhapur or in Pune. I had no option but to keep you guys waiting.

Under this 'Diwali' tag, I'll share my pictures from the respective days of Diwali. This one's Narak Chaturdashi, which in Maharashtra is celebrated widely. We have the 'Abhyang Snaan', where we scrub our bodies with oil and utna powder, and then have a long, lavish bath. We get up early to carry out these bathing rituals.

After this, every year, I go out to meet friends in traditional clothes. This time I had worn a saree.
