The Pretty City Girl | Indian Travel & Lifestyle Blog

September has been a super busy month. In spite of this, there has been some great things that happened. Here are my September favourites-

2nd Anniversary of TPCG
Blogging for two years has made me absolutely happy. I knew my blog will give me any job that I wanted, I'd mentioned it last year, and I really got one. Blogging is one thing I do for myself exclusively.

Giveaway
This giveaway with Seduction Las Vegas has given me something too, along with the winner--From 744 followers to 820 on Instagram and from 570 likes to 609 likes on Facebook page--I am very happy.

Ganpati and Family Time
Like I've mentioned it million times before, family is everything to me. Ganesh Chaturthi obviously means fun and family time.

Koovs Tasks
Just one task is left now. I really enjoyed doing all the tasks, though I did them in haste and under total stress.

DIYs
I had never tried a DIY on any piece of clothing. Koovs task made me do that and I'm confident to make my t-shirt go totally chic from a simple one. Looking forward to more DIYs.

What are your September favourites?

I'm handling so many things simultaneously that I feel like the stress will burst out together one day. I'm doing so many things, I just want a long vacation. Thankfully, the Industrial Visit is coming soon, and I'm looking forward to relieve all the stress.

But for using IV as a stress-reliever, I must pack my bag. Sure, I have made a list of things to pack, but that's not enough. I don't have good clothes. I wanted to wear fresh clothes for IV; but my mom is too pissed at me for shopping without any solid reason. If I buy new clothes, she will be even more pissed at me. I have ordered a dark blue coloured trousers from Flipkart.com and a pair of skinny t-shirt from Koovs.com, and I'm eagerly waiting for their delivery. (I'm hoping that it comes before my IV, so that I would have at least one pair of fresh, new clothes.)
I also have to buy essentials like shampoo sachets, wet wipes, snacks, etc. I am going to ask my dad to bring the needful, but for that, I should have time to sit down and make a list of 'Things to Buy'. Just two days are left and I haven't packed my bag. All the three years of my graduation, I would begin packing a month early; crazy, I know! And this time, just two days to go. I'm so stressed about the same. I come home at 9:00 pm, and packing bag after that becomes a bit difficult.

I can't even take a leave from office and pack the bag, as I have already taken so many holidays that I'm willing to even work over time for the remaining two days. I had taken two days off for Ganpati, then one day off because I was not well, and now again from 1st to 8th October, I will have to take a leave due to my IV. I'm feeling so guilty and bad.

I have missed quite a few lectures at college, and so I'm fearing I should not default and come under the Defaulters' List. Though I haven't even bunked once this semester, I don't want my parents to be called for a bad reason. I still might take off, as it is understandable.

On top of all this, there is my blog. My PC is down and so I have to work on my laptop, which is not really bad. But working on laptop is anytime of lesser convenience than working on PC. And then there's Koovs virtual, weekly internship. Though I work on it only on Sundays, I still stress about it throughout the week.

Due to all this, I can't meet my best friends even on their birthdays, and it is hard to explain them. They just feel like I'm selfish and can't even bunk office for a day. I wish they understood what I'm currently going through and forgive me. It's all becoming a big stress ball now.

Signing out; bye, bye!

P.S. I might not write here till 8th October, 2015. However, be in touch with me via Snapchat (@dprettycitygirl) and Twitter (@dprettycitygirl).

Hi there! I have designed a Weekly Study Planner printable for you guys. The theme is pink and black, and I've kept it pretty simple this time.

I'm feeling too calm right now. Today seemed like just one of those days.
Internship has kept me so busy and unsocial, that it is so hard to relax and meetup with friends.

Today, skipping the first lecture, I went to college to attend the remaining two lectures. I reached there and realized the second lecture was a guest lecture in the auditorium and the third was cancelled. Therefore, going to college was totally fruitless.

However, something happened that did not make me regret going college--the fun we had. Since more than a month, I've been going to office after college. I hardly had some food in the canteen and forcefully 'rushed' to the station with my friends who actually had to rush to office. I'm in no hurry as I always reach on time. But my friends are; and so, as I get company, I go along with them too.

As Saturdays are off, I could afford to spend some more time in college today. We had crazy amount of fun. In our college, there's this Activity Room. There is a table for table tennis and around four carom boards, out of which, two are played on, and two are just lying upright in a corner. All my classmates go to this room to play, right after the lectures.
Today, I was with them. After so many days, I enjoyed so very much.

When we entered the Activity Room, we saw our classmates sitting on the floor and totally chilling. We also joined them. Later, just randomly, somebody said we should play Antaksharee. I was so happy and I readily agreed. I'm one of those over-enthusiastic people who play Antaksharee. I initiate the songs, I sing loudly, and I almost lose my voice in this process. Therefore, I readily agreed, and thus the first song, without any doubt, was 'Maiya Yashoda' from the movie 'Hum Saath Saath Hai'.

We played this game continuously for 2 and half hours, and in the end, our throat was sore. We finally left the college at 3:00 PM, totally satisfied and happy. All the three of us who comparatively left early, are working/were working. Even they were happy to have enjoyed after three long months of their internships.

After coming home, I had tea with my parents, and then, went to the station to give my notes to a junior. After coming back home, I scheduled October month in my agenda. I wrote a Thank You note to the MD of Seduction Las Vegas for organizing the giveaway with me. Everything was so serene. Maybe it is the fact that my PC is down and so I wasn't sitting in front of it, as I do always. But whatever it is, I thoroughly enjoyed writing in total peace.

Then, I had food with my parents, in the living room, watching Leicester vs Arsenal, and talking in between. Trust me; those few dialogues we exchanged were so heart warming, I felt really happy.

And now, I'm writing the blog, surprisingly comfortable and in a laid back position. I'm loving how today has turned out to be.

I had carried the top, bottom, and the neckpiece to Pune for this photoshoot. I asked my younger cousin sister to shoot me. I clicked this on the same day I was to come back to Mumbai. I remember, all my relatives had asked me the same question, as they were shocked to see me all dolled up, without any reason!
Here are some of the pictures from the shoot-

I had liked this shot; however, my neckpiece was not visible and so I asked my sister to click another.

Let me know if you faced any problem in the clarity of the wallpapers. Also, tell me which wallpaper shall I design and upload next.

For the Koovs's fourth task, we had to dress ourselves in one of the themes given, and then design a page for Grazia, thus featuring ourselves and helping our 'readers' to 'get the look'. So, I chose 'Print Clash' as my theme, in which I had to wear print on print.
The only thing that comes to my mind after talking about printed bottom wear is my chevron striped leggings. So I chose that, and for the upper body, I chose a striped loose vest.

I shot the photographs in Pune and then designed the page after coming back to Mumbai. Unfortunately, QuarkXPress was deleted from my PC and hence, I had to download it again. To my surprise, I remembered each and every command, and the shortcut keys too! Maybe, if you do something out of total love, you necessarily don't need to 'remember' its functioning; all you have to do is initiate your work and your hands start moving automatically!

I'd thought I'd forgotten the essence of designing a magazine, but I'm happy to know I hadn't. Last year, for Newspaper and Magazine Designing project, I had designed a magazine. I referred a particular page of that magazine for this task.

I am delighted to design again, after a year!

Have you ever tried designing a magazine or a newspaper?

Every time I post a snap about this, I get at least one question related to it. Girls ask about its availability, the shop I purchased it from, and many other questions.

I had purchased this from Watsons during my visit to China. I was happy with its price and it looked amazing!
I had first tried it before my flight back to India. I'd applied it, and after a sound sleep, my face was smooth, fair, and soft. I was too happy with the results.

Unfortunately, we don't get this in India. If you can afford, buy it from a foreign online store and ship it to India.

I have packs in Papaya, Kiwi, and Strawberry; and out of these, Papaya is my favourite.
The pack costs Rs. 150 only, and it contains eight masks inside.

I apply it before an important function, event, or festival. It definitely brings a fairer skintone. Different masks have different specialty, though--Kiwi is for Revitalizing and Hydrating the skin; Strawberry is for Moisturizing and Whitening; and Papaya is for Purifying and Brightening.

Here are the three packs I purchased-

Somehow, Kiwi + Yogurt do not smell that good. The first time I had tried it, I was almost gonna keep it away. However, I still used it and the result was quite impressive. The black seeds of the Kiwi are real, and we can see them on our face!

Strawberry + Yogurt = Super Smooth Skin. The fragrance is undoubtedly delicious, and the result is outstanding too.

Nothing makes me feel super clean and super awesome like this one. I had tried it before others and was completely marveled!

I choose one out of these masks depending on what my skin needs at that particular time. If it's the winter season; I go for Strawberry, if I want to revitalize my skin as I might have recently recovered from an illness, I go for Kiwi; and if I am just back from a trip and need to purify my skin, I go with the Papaya one. So it basically depends on the need.

I usually scrub my face with a coffee scrub and then apply the mask. I had heard it from someone that such masks close the pores, and if I scrubbed and opened my pores before using a mask, that would be even more beneficial.

Do you use any sort of face masks?

Oh my God! You have no idea how happy I was to receive this pretty gift. My cousin aunt gifted a earring set to me and my younger sister, and we both absolutely love our gifts.

There are two sets.

Talking about my set-

It has an extremely cute box.

The pink flower can be used with any earring stud.

I loved all the studs and I can't wait to use them. I just checked the price of this set, and it is Rs. 699!

This set belongs to my sister. I did not like the box as it is too basic.

Instead of those big pearls, there was a pair of golden semi circle inside. As during the shoot, my aunt was wearing it, we thought of replacing those semi circle earrings with this one.

Similar to my pink flower, we can use the silver flower with different studs too.

I really liked the idea of removing these flowers and using it with any stud! I give it 8/10, thus cutting 2 points for its price.

Hi! I have compiled all the statistical data related to TPCG. Here's a look at how it stands on 15/09/2015-

 Followers on TPCG
36 people are following TPCG as a blog using Google connect.

Google+ Followers
Too many people are following me on Google+.

Facebook Likes
My Facebook page has started to get more likes and views, so I am happy.

Number of Posts
This is the number of posts published. There are 7 more in drafts!

Pageviews
This is the number from the day I started my blog to 15th, excluding my own blog views.

Instagram Followers
The only reason of getting more followers recently is Koovs. I had followed fellow Koovs interns, and few of them followed me back.

Pinterest Followers
I don't use Pinterest on a wide scale to promote TPCG. But whatever number of followers I have, I am pretty satisfied.

Twitter Followers
I've used Twitter to tweet about one line jokes or daily happenings, which I think people would relate. There's hardly anything related to blogging.

Thank you so much for helping me to achieve these numbers. Lots of Love!

Hello there, girls!

I am so happy to have been blogging consistently for two years. It's such a big achievement. I'm looking forward to more and more years, and with each passing year, some exciting changes in the blog and of course, improvements every day.

I cut a cake this morning at 6:50am, before going to college. My mom cut it into pieces and I took half of the cake to college. I remember, on the first day of college, when our professor had asked us to introduce ourselves, I'd spoken about my blog and how on September 15 I would complete two years. On it, our ma'am had jokingly asked me to bring a cake and that we all would celebrate it together.
That's why I carried it there.

I feel extremely powerful. I am proud about myself. I'm happy with the way TPCG is progressing. Even after coming home from office, at 8:00 or 9:00, I save some energy for my baby. I manage to write a shabbily written article, but I definitely write one--and that's what is important.

I wanna achieve many more things in my blogging life and today, as a celebration, I have collaborated with Seduction Las Vegas for a Giveaway! This is my very first, and I'm happy to see how it is turning out to be.

We are going to give away two pink nail polish shades and two lipsticks of red and pink shades. The contest is ending on Sunday midnight, so enter it as soon as possible!

Thanks a lot for supporting me throughout. I love you all.

I'm so excited for tomorrow, as TPCG turns two! This post is especially dedicated to all those who made an impact on me and on TPCG, largely. I want to thank you all in person, especially some sweet people I've mentioned below. I would like to say a big THANK YOU to--

Patrons
Firstly, I would like to thank my loyal patrons, who read my blog religiously. I would really want to know who read each post and why. I am fortunate to have you guys. Keep on showering such love and keep on reading TPCG.

Readers
Those people who do read my blog, but not religiously or regularly. You read posts if that topic interests you. I really want to know which topics you like the most and why. Also, I'm glad you read my blog especially for some type of posts!

Likers on Facebook
There are certain people who like TPCG's posts across different social media platforms. I would like to say a thank you, as you guys make me feel like a star there!

Commentators
There are again certain people, who read and COMMENT on blog or on social media. Thank you very much for coming forward and bringing doubts and pieces of appreciation.

Well-Wishers
Thanks to that chunk of people who are in awe after knowing for how long I've blogged. Also, for those who ask me to keep up the good work or say they're proud of me. I really need you, as you're my biggest moral support.

Family
Though my family hasn't helped me that much, I'm thankful to them as they postpone the deadline of 11 o' clock, every night, and let me finish writing the post!

Best Friends
I would specially like to thank Pournami Jois and Rutuja Nagwekar, as they've been a big moral support and ready to cheer me up any time!

Haters and Critics
Thank you to my critics and haters; you made me realize my mistakes, and how I should continue doing what I'm doing!

Lots of Love,
Rutuja

Out of curiosity, I had created a blog. I didn't know what to post, so it was just hanging there.
In my First Year of BMM, our professor had asked us to create a blog and maintain it. I sure had opened a blog, but hadn't maintained. I continued the same blog for that assignment and named it 'a-trollz.blogspot.in'.

I posted photos and two poems at the beginning. Again, the blog was hanging there, with no activity whatsoever.

Then, as I always had interest in stationary and other stuff, I used to keep on surfing the net. One day, while I was downloading girly wallpapers, I came across a site. I thought I would get more such wallpapers there, as the wallpaper I'd found was really good. That site was not any other site, but was a blog named The College Prepster.
I was so mesmerized by the content the blogger wrote, that I became too happy to have been discovered the blog.

I read few more articles, and realized how similar my thinking and likes were. I then knew I had to start a blog myself. Initially, I used Tumblr for blogging. I had kept the name of my blog as 'That Girl With Black Nail Polish'.

It was 15th of September 2013; I came back to my a-trollz.blogspot.in Blogger blog, and started thinking of a good name. I badly wanted the name 'Pink and Black' or 'Pink or Black', but sadly, both the names were already taken. Finally, I came onto 'The Pretty City Girl'.

I copy-pasted all the posts from my Tumblr blog to my newly renamed blog. (Perhaps, that's why you can see there were so many different font styles and font sizes used in 2013.)
I used a paper from one of the Vogue issues to wrap my notebook and then clicked it. It was the profile picture on my Facebook page and you can say, it was sort of a logo for my blog back then.

I struggled with the quality of images; but in the end, I'm happy with however TPCG looks like today.
