To begin with, I must admit that I absolutely love food. Initially, I used to be dicey about me being a foodie, but lately, I have realized that I am a big foodie, and is proud to be one. My family is famous in the neighborhood for being foodies and living to eat and not eating to live. I'm proud to be just like it.

I wanted to try this particular restaurant since long. The day finally came when I planned for real and the unexpected happened--the plan got executed! This hotel is inside the huge Courtyard hotel, and yes, it's by the famous Marriott group of hotels. This is the first time I'd been to a hotel inside a 4-5 starred hotel and my experience was different, but sweet.

The buffet is for Rs. 1,375 per head, exclusive of tax. The restaurant is situated in Andheri East, in case you want to go there! Read on further to know my review of this grand restaurant!

SALAD

Irrespective of whether you've been to a restaurant that serves in a buffet kind of a system, I still would love to write how this restaurant works. We had it in a buffet style. We have to grab a plate and then serve ourselves. I took potatoes, broccoli, corn, cherry tomatoes, pasta, onions, and zucchini for my salad, and yes, all of them were garnished, except those cherry tomatoes.
The salad was cold, which I didn't know and so I had expected something hot and not cold like this. The salad was passable in my opinion.

MAIN COURSE

I took a naan and asked the server if he could add butter and he did. I was happy as I could ask him without any haste. Along with the naan, I took vegetable biryani, raita, three subjis, and two paneer tikkis (with coconut-coriander chutney). All of the items from the main course were delicious, but nothing took my heart away as the desserts.

PIZZA

There's also a system in this restaurant where you can order the food that is available and the servers get the food for you. We took this vegetarian pizza in this manner. There are more options available like green tea, pasta, chaat, etc.
The pizza had a thin crust and was satisfying.

DESSERTS

Seeing the number of photos you'd know how much I loved the desserts here. If at all you're planning to visit the restaurant, I recommend you to keep 10% of the space in your stomach for desserts. All of the desserts I tried were mindbogglingly delicious. I'm not a big desserts fan, but I loved each and every item I tried. Just for your knowledge, I clicked the photos of the desserts.
I had taken hot chocolate brownie, tiramisu, some pineapple upside down baked cake, and the fourth item that you can see on my plate. Desserts are a must-eat. If you're a moderate sweet-eater like I am, I promise you this section will not be a disappointment.

AMBIANCE

The ambiance is lovely. If you're going in the morning or before the sun sets, I recommend dressing in a day-dress as the ambiance is very bright and cheerful. However, if you're going in the evening or at night, dress yourselves in a smart formal dress. The roof of the restaurant is high, so there's ample of fresh air.

SERVICE
The service was out-and-out. In the start, however, we were a bit lost, as in where to go, from where to start, etc., but once we entered the hotel, this MoMo Cafe was on the ground floor itself. The servers guided us well, and I would specially like to mention the servers Siddhesh Dhankutkar and Naveen Kadam, and the Assistant Restaurant Manager Asif Shaikh. I asked their names as I had pre-decided to write a review and be specific about the details.
The plates were cleared off in time and other technicalities were taken care of as well. The staff was friendly and ever-smiling.

That was my long restaurant review!

Have you visited this hotel?

Before I begin with the post, let me tell you, I'm not that lazy; sometimes lethargy overpowers me. You can say, I have better things to do than cleaning the room. But, in order to start doing those better things, I need my room to be clean. I cannot work on a large blog post or sit with assignments with heaps of clothes lying on the bed and bags or other accessories lying on the worktop; all this mess just kills my mood and productivity. Therefore, before starting the things I love, I clean my room following these easy steps. If you follow this guide, your room will be tidy in 10 minutes only!

KEEP ALL THE KITCHENWARE BACK
This is the first step I do. I keep all the glasses, mugs, cups, jars, or all those items that belong in the kitchen, back to the kitchen. Every morning, without fail, I drink a glass of water. While doing so, I'm in my bedroom. Once I'm done drinking, I keep the glass in my room and not in the kitchen. Same thing repeats when I drink a cup of tea with biscuits; I keep the cup and the large jar of biscuits in my room. Also, I keep the breakfast plate/bowl as it is. Once I sit for my work, I put all these back to the kitchen and thus few items are done away with.

CLEAN YOUR BED
Next, I tidy up the beds. In my room, there are two beds. So I fold the blankets and keep them neatly under the pillows of the respective beds. I put away extra things that are lying on the bed like clothes, towel, etc. back to where they belong. Next important thing I do is straightening the bedsheet. This one thing turns your bed from messy to a clean and well maintained bed. No matter if there are things on the bed, if you straighten the bedsheet, your bed will look organized.

CLEAN YOUR WORKTOP
If you're someone who has a worktop or a table, clean that too. A messy worktop seriously turns me off. I clean all the junk and keep my novel and glasses properly on it. You should definitely try to keep less number of things on your table/worktop. A clean worktop automatically clears all the negativity before starting any work.

PUT AWAY THE GARBAGE
If you don't have a dustbin in your room, you must be too lazy to throw the chocolate wrappers or any scribbled papers. You can either keep a mini dustbin in your room to help in your laziness or go and put the garbage away. I have a small white coloured dustbin in my room, right near the feet of my worktop. I have used that dustbin a million times. You would find banana skins, crushed stick notes, old tickets, broken wires, etc. in this dustbin. Read this post to get a mini dustbin of your own, with spending no money absolutely: Short Tip #13 Trash Can

How do you clean your room? Is there any way? Are there any steps that you follow?

I always look out for such wallpapers as Mumbai is my city of dreams. The song, Empire State of Mind by Alicia Keys, is such an inspirational song. It is my favourite to listen to when travelling in bus in the main city. Though the singer sings New York, New York, for me it somehow translates to Mumbai, Mumbai. Now I'm all settled in my course of post-graduation, but before this, when I was giving entrance exam, I was amazed to listen to this song. Check out my post 'Everything Happens for Good' and you'll exactly know what I felt back then.

I used to search for this kind of wallpapers everywhere in that phase of life. I designed one for my readers so if you guys need some inspo, this wallpaper will work like magic. I purposely wrote 'City of Dreams' instead of mentioning any city's name as for a person any city could be his city of dreams. This wallpaper's gonna motivate you, especially if you're heading to an interview or audition in the city of your dreams. So go ahead, and make it as your wallpaper!

You might be doing this, but not as often as you should do. In a day, you get so many emails that most of them are unimportant, meaning, you can survive without them. Hardly few of the emails are important for your survival. Here, I don't mean those spam emails, but those that you get from different shopping sites, which can be important only if you're looking out for offers.

As soon as you come across an important email, irrespective of whether a reply was expected from your side or not, just 'favourite' or 'star' it. Your email-list becomes so clean and organized just by doing this.

I'll give you examples to make things precise. As a student, I get many emails from our professors offering various job opportunities. For me, these opportunities are insignificant as of now, so I ignore those emails. However, if I receive any email proposing a collaboration with my blog, judging its importance, I put a 'star-mark' before it.

I might not even search all the starred emails in the future, but I am relieved as I won't delete these emails by mistake any time. It's not just about deletion, but the sheer fact that you've made something a priority.
Seeing my email-list definitely brings in positivity, as I only focus on those starred emails and work towards them.

Therefore, next time you get an important email, no matter the varying degree of its importance, star-mark it. You'll undeniably feel better and motivated.

How often do you star-mark an email?

Now that I read so much, I thought of designing a set of bookmarks for all my fellow readers. I'm sure if you read my blog, you must have at least a bit of taste in reading books as well. To make reading even more enjoyable, I have designed few simple, yet fun bookmarks. To print them individually, click on the links below each bookmark:

My dad was in Sharjah few months back and that's when he got me these. He had sent photos of a discount booklet and I chose these items from them. I had also asked him if there were any makeup products on discount, but none to my unhappiness. This booklet consisted of toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, shower gels, wipes, soaps, etc. I happily chose my items and was eager to see them when dad returned!

I'll just share the pictures of the products and will write a review on them as and when I get time.

BOURJOIS PARIS SHOWER GELS
I have already written a review on these, and I do love the packaging of them. Go and check out my review to know about the shower gels in details: http://goo.gl/bjKJ2Z

CLEAN & CLEAR EXFOLIATOR AND SCRUB
These are humongous. I'm gonna write a review on them, so stay tuned. Just so that you guys know, I loved the exfoliating daily wash more than the scrub.

JOHNSON'S AND NIVEA PACKS OF FACE WIPES
Who doesn't need and use face wipes in summers? As soon as I saw these, I asked dad to get. Unfortunately, these are not as awesome as I'd thought, but, never mind. As the packs read, I got these with 'one plus one free' discount on each pack, which means there are four packs of face wipes here (two packs of Johnson's and two packs of Nivea). Both of these branded wipes make my skin oilier and I so hate this feel.

Yet another superb way to get your tasks done is by sticking stick notes on your laptop's keyboard. I'm sure it has lot of free space to stick a note.
Write all the day's task on a sheet of stick note and stick it on your laptop. Whenever you waste your time watching a TV show, this note will remind you of the tasks you have to finish.

I got this idea from my brother. Today morning I was helping him draft a mail, and saw a note like this. He's particular about his tasks for the day, as he's an entrepreneur. He lists down his meetings and other business related chores every night. I had designed a planner for him as well.
I was happy to see him use this trick and immediately thought of sharing it with you all.

This trick will trigger you to work if at all you're aimlessly watching YouTube and not doing the assigned tasks.

Have you ever tried this trick?

Last month, I was home alone for two days, one night as my parents were at Pune. Unfortunately, I also had to wake up at 6:30 am for college. I would have returned home at 3:30 pm and so had to ensure I have done all those tasks essential for a safe house.

I listed down basic tasks on a stick note and stuck it behind the main door of the house. Before leaving, I checked if I had done all the tasks.

I'm sharing a picture of my check list so that you guys get an idea.

KEYS
Making sure you leave the house with keys is one of the most important tasks to do when alone. Without a key, you're dead, you know. I have purposely rewritten KEYS to ensure I have taken them before shutting the door.

GAS
This is another yet very important task. See to it that you've turn off the stove before leaving. If you don't, a huge mishap might take place.

LIGHTS
It is one of the conservation of electricity tasks. Shut off all those fans and lights before leaving. If you're gonna be out for the whole day, don't forget to turn off the WiFi switch too.

COMPUTER
When we're alone, we usually use computer the most. Don't hurriedly leave the house without ensuring you've turned off the PC as well. Long duration of inactivity might turn your computer's screen blank making you think you've turned it off. So, see that all the switches of the PC are turned off.

FOOD
During summer especially, don't keep the food out else it might stale until you reach home. Keep the food inside the refrigerator.

TAP
You would obviously turn off the tap as it is not something we forget to do. But, this can be possible when there's a water shortage problem at your residence. As it had not rained plenty in Maharashtra last year, there's a water shortage problem going on. To deal with this, we usually don't have water for a day or two in a week. Unfortunately, I was alone during those two days and so I had to make sure all the taps were closed as a sudden restart of water would have wasted it in my absence.

PETS (NOT IN THE PICTURE)
Don't forget your friends. Keep out food and water for them and whatever provisions are needed according to your pets.

What are the tasks in your 'home alone check list'?

Bookmarks are fun to flag a page when you keep the book aside. But, when you read the book after a long, long break, you don't even remember which was the last paragraph you'd read. In order to amp up the use of bookmark, I have a trick.

Depending on which side of the page you'd read last, turn the side of the bookmark accordingly. If I'm done reading a paragraph on left side and three more paragraphs are remaining on the same side, I'll keep the 'front' side of the bookmark facing towards that very side.

For example, in the above image, the bookmark's front side is facing page number 161, which means, I have to resume reading from page 161. Had it been facing page 160, I would have resumed reading from page 160.

'cause of this, I don't need to read all the paragraphs in order to recollect which line I'd read last; I would just check the side of the bookmark, and know which page I was on.

This trick has saved lot of time and helped my impatient soul.

Do you have any bookmark trick?

After a hot summer day, I wanted to step out of the house during the eventide. Therefore, I went out with my mom to buy groceries. But before that, at around 5:45, we went to this park, just for fun.

This park is situated in the society I live in here. It's right in front of my house. I've always been wanting to make the most of this park and jog or walk every morning or every evening. Finally, today I could do so.
I have not carried any jogging accessories or clothes, but just these Nike shoes.

Here are some more photos from the evening:

How often do you visit a park? Is it for walking/jogging or for fun?

I always wanted to have a hanging chair, which I could call as mine. I love swings and simply enjoy how we go up and down. I love that careless feeling, which makes me feel like I'm flying. No kidding.

We hadn't decided to get a hanging chair at my house in Pune, but last time, when my brother was here, he fixed it in our room. We have a view of thick green trees and as the room is empty, we can swing to and fro and from side to side without the fear of being struck by a furniture or the walls.

I love reading my book here, or simply shutting my eyes and relaxing. This hanging chair is a must item, guys; and if you have enough space in your house (or veranda), just fix one! I promise you that you're gonna love the feeling of comfortably sitting in such a chair, sipping a hot cup of coffee on an adorable winter morning.

Do you have a hanging chair in your vicinity?

I love it when I have topics on which I can write my heart out; this post's one of those. This is the third time I'm coming here in Pune, not for work, but for relaxing and having fun. By now I exactly know what's gonna keep me hooked and happy, even at my holiday-home, where I have no friends, weak internet connection, and lesser activities to keep myself busy.

So, what are those fun things you can carry to your holiday-home that will ensure a happy and a wonderful stay?

LAPTOP + MOVIES
Number one thing I would recommend is carrying a laptop. Carry it especially if you'e gonna stay there for more than a week long. Laptop's gonna be your saviour at those times when everybody in the house is asleep and you're not.
Fill your laptop or a hard-disk with lots of movies or TV shows. Before coming here, I had transferred Pokemon and other movies in my hard-disk so that I'll be entertained whenever I wanted to.

INDOOR GAMES
Carry indoor games like Monopoly, Life, Business, etc. You can also keep a carom board and the coins at your holiday-home. Carom is the best indoor game to play!

WIFI
If you own a WiPod or a portable WiFi, needless to say, you should carry that too. Not just to access the internet, but also to search for restaurants on Zomato. Your cellphone's internet connection is just too weak when you're out of your hometown!

SPORTS
You can carry a football, cricket bat and ball, badminton racket and shuttle, etc., depending on the space near your house and of course, your interest.

NAIL POLISH + NAIL POLISH REMOVER
Carry few colours of nail polish depending on the length of your stay. When bored, just reapply the polish! I have carried a pink bottle with me.

CAMERA
I know you'll probably carry a camera when on a trip. But, I mentioned here because you can discover the area around your house and click photos of everything that appeals you. I'm gonna do this too, and then will make a blog-post on that. (I hope I really do this!)

NOVEL
Depending on how thick the novel is and how many pages of it are done reading, carry one or two novels. As the book I'm reading, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, is of 548 pages, I knew I won't be needing two books. If you're bored to turn on your laptop, you can quickly grab your novel and read.

PLAYING CARDS
Nothing like playing the playing-cards with your friends and family. Turn on the music, keep some snacks around you, and play together for hours. You can also play UNO if playing cards are not your cup of tea!

What do you do at your holiday-home?
xoxo

It's so good to have a work desk even at your holiday-home. Though a holiday-home is where you have fun and keep the technology away, blogging does not count as 'work'. It's so peaceful to write, but I often lack topics, as I don't have my everyday life going on here.
Don't expect any fanciful desk here, as it's just a PC table with nothing on top, except my laptop and a cute little soft toy I had got from Shanghai.

We had purchased this table in my brother's first year days, i.e., around six years back. He was pursuing his education in Pune and used to live with my grandfather here. We had got this table for him to study.

We've kept this table in the master bedroom, which belongs to me and my brother. There are no beds here for now, but just a table and a swinging chair, which we absolutely love. My brother wants to keep this room for recreation, fun, work, and as a library. (I want beds here, but even this idea will do.) Right now, there are no books, except those two books we're currently reading. We've made a mini library there, at my house in Mumbai, and it's the loveliest thing!

I reached Pune today at 4:30 and right now I'm sitting here, and my sister is home! I'm so happy as it's gonna be a fantastic movie night!

All right, so without further due, let's get into the post:

Pencil Case
I'm using this pouch by Fab Bag and I love it as it's chic and a zebra print. I love zebra print and have a laptop case in it too. I like to carry a large pouch so that I can put in lot of things.

Small Ruler
I've used a small ruler for two out of four papers this time and it's been definitely a tool for me. I used it for drawing diagrams. I had also carried a large ruler for drawing lines after the completion of each answer, denoting that the answer is complete (and is not left in middle). I had kept this large ruler floating in my bag.

Pen Pencils x2
One is with the lead 0.7mm and the other is 0.5mm. I had purchased the pink one newly and then found the blue one. I thought of carrying both of them as changing the lead while writing exam is a total waste of time.

Lead Box x2
As the lead of both are different, I had to carry two individual boxes that supported them.

Blue Ink Ball Point Pen x5
There's a long story behind these five pens. I had asked my dad to get pens one day before the exam as I hardly had one or two, with half filled inks. My dad got four pens--two olive green and two black. I didn't like the olive green but had to use it.

Black Ink Ball Point Pen x2
Black pens are important for colouring those circles on the OMR sheet. As my dad had brought two, I carried two.

Hall Ticket
I had folded my hall ticket in half and had kept in a clear pouch and then fitted that pouch in my pencil case.

What do you carry in your pencil case on exam days?
