The Pretty City Girl

Every person has a bucket list that they make out of passion. Some bucket lists are travel-centric, meaning, they cover incredible destinations around the world and some are related to adventurous activities (like skydiving in Dubai). A few people ardently survive to complete their bucket list, whereas, a few don't take it seriously. No matter who, we are sure to find the Wonders of the World on every person's bucket list. There was a time when we were kids, these wonders were highly celebrated amongst Indian families. Not really sure about how wondrous they are now, but in case you've forgotten their glory, here's a list to freshen your memory.

There are sights all over the world that are awe-inspiring and you should try to see as many of them as you can before you die. Some are new, some are ancients and they are in all sorts of different locations.

THE PYRAMIDS, EGYPT

The Egyptian pyramids are one of the most established wonders of the world. The oldest and largest are the Pyramids of Giza, and it is where many tourists head. They are among the few ancient wonders that are still intact, so you see them in all the grandeur they were built with.

STONEHENGE, UK

Historians still debate why Stonehenge and similar sites found nearby were built and used for. How the stones reached where they are and how they were lifted into their positions is also a mystery. Until recent years, they were just an open place that anyone could walk around, but now in the interests of preservation they are fenced off and guided tours are arranged.

THE GREAT BARRIER REEF, AUSTRALIA

It is hard to imagine the beauty of the Barrier Reef until you have seen it for yourself. A good way to do this is with Barrier Reef tours so that you get to see the best bits with the most stunning fishes and reef that you could miss if you attempt to do this trip on your own.

VICTORIA FALLS, BORDER OF ZAMBIA AND ZIMBABWE

The Victoria Falls are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a truly deserving recognition of some of the most impressive waterfalls in Africa. One must truly visit it to see the massive waterfall that refreshes and mesmerises.

COLOSSEUM OF ROME, ITALY

This towering structure is the world’s largest amphitheatre and one of the best-known places in Rome. Performances are still held there from time to time, but whether you watch a play or visit when it is empty, it really is a must see.

THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA

Being 21,196 km long, the Great Wall of China is said to be the longest wall in the world. From start to finish, the views are stunning and varied, although it is rather a long way to walk its entire length.

TAJ MAHAL, INDIA

If you don’t want to travel far to see a wonder, Taj Mahal is the place for you. At almost 400 years old, the Taj Mahal is one of the most iconic places in the world. It is said to be as beautiful as the day it was built and still manages to wow any visitor.

ANGKOR WAT, CAMBODIA

Anyone visiting Cambodia should not miss these stunning temples. They are a really impressive sight, especially in the soft glow of the sunset or sunrise. There are still monks to help and guide you through this huge array of different buildings.

THE TERRACOTTA ARMY, CHINA

This army of soldiers made from Terracotta has travelled the world but never looks as good as it does in its homeland of China. The workmanship and expertise that went into making these are amazing, and something that is well worth a visit if you are in China.

I have no idea how much the number of posts in a month matter to you but for me, it is the only thing that makes me stress-free. I feel restless at the end of the day if I have not published a post so I do not let the writer's block cast its spell. I do whatever it takes to continue writing but there are those days when I can't produce content, no matter what. There are a few days when I have a topic but no words to back it up and a few, when I am willing to write but I can't think of anything to write on.

how to overcome writer's block

Before I begin sharing my tricks to overcome the writer's block, I must share with you the longest writer's block I ever faced in my five years of blogging (though I had written articles in that period, it was not enough for me). Last year, in December, I got a job that sucked my time from me. I used to reach home after 10:00 pm every night so I had no time to blog whatsoever. During work hours, the management did not let me post on social media as it was against company policy.

So if you go through my archives, you would see the insane downfall of my posts; until November, I had minimum 12 posts every month but since the commencement of that job, the count reduced to five posts per month. And, when I quit the job in February, I still had no words to produce. Until last month, I used to published only five articles every month. It was a shocker when I checked my archives. This is what an overtime job does to your blog; you get no time to write. So you see, I had a writer's block for six months (though I continued writing a bunch of posts every month, for me it equalled to a block).

And upon realising this, I sat down to power through the situation. Whenever a topic crossed my mind, I immediately noted it down. This enabled me to overcome the 'when I am willing to write but I can't think of anything to write on' problem. The second difficulty is when I have a list of topics to write but no mood; conquering this is a consecutive process and there shall be no end to this.

So, how to overcome a writer's block?

MAKE A LIST OF BLOG TOPICS

You know how people tell you to make a list of blog topic ideas to overcome writer's block. It holds quite true, to be honest. However, the trick here is: the list should be short; meaning, it should not have more than five topics. You must be aware of how unproductive we get when we have a lot of things to do; we just end up procrastinating because the list is endless and the mood is dim too. If your list includes only a few topics then it is easy to write and just striking off as you finish them. You get a sense of satisfaction and you feel more motivated to write further. Having a long list spoils you by choice and you don't feel like taking up any of it.
Another trick is to include distinct topics that are not related to each other. For instance, if one topic is 'Travel Essentials', don't include the other as 'Winter Backpacking Essentials'. Because having two similar topics can only mean holding back from sharing the information because a) you had already written that in the first topic or b) because you have to write something similar in the second.

JUST WRITE – WITHOUT PUNCTUATION AND FANCY WORDS

This is a kickass way to overcome writer's block. When we write, we unknowingly focus a lot on the punctuations or thinking of better synonyms for a word or looking up for phrases and idioms that suit our sentences. Some days, you have no energy to move your fingers so you shut down your computer because you don't want to research or put more efforts on your brain to come up with better words or cleaner grammar.
Therefore, just write. No matter how ill the writing is, just write. Move your fingers and sync them with the sentences in your mind. Write as if you are talking to someone. You needn't look after the grammar or sprout fancy words for this. Just keep on writing.

WRITE ON A SPONTANEOUS TOPIC FROM YOUR ROUTINE

I suggest you take a break from the topics that cater to your niche; for once, write on something personal, something that is ongoing at the moment. You can write about epiphanies – the sudden realisations of how life works – or a person who inspired you out of nowhere, or your current life situation, or the ongoing festival/season. The topics to write would be endless when you think of this. You have so many interesting things happening in your life, that it is overwhelming! You can easily come up with ideas by breaking your wall and cruising off-road.

MIND-MAP YOUR ARTICLE

I have recently discovered this trick and oh my, I have been a better writer ever since. Back in my school and college days, I used to mind-map the answers. Meaning, I used to segregate the answer in different segments and then break those segments into different pointers. I got such a vast amount of study material by doing that. My mom had passed on this trick to me; she always asked me to write answers while studying. Since then, I made my own notes and always topped my class.
I applied the similar trick for my blog posts as well. I wrote the topic on a sheet of paper and then emerged with related pointers that enabled me to have more content to write on as well as covered every aspect of the topic. By writing pointers, you concentrate only on one pointer at a time as opposed to wandering your focus when you don't have a guide with you.

CHANGE THE LOCATION

When I'm not travelling, I work from home. Sometimes, this lasts for more than a month and I get frustrated sitting at home, wearing those pyjamas, and staring at the same walls and looking around at the same things. Life seems dead and you want an instant lift-me-up that comes in the form of changing the ambience. To successfully write articles even when I am not travelling, I change my location for a day; I go on my terrace or sit in a cafe. The surrounding changes and with that, my mood. The productivity is increased manifold and I am able to write more content with some direction. Working from a cafe is a mood-changer, I believe. I get to dress up – which certainly is a refreshing change from the everyday home look – and get to sip on thick chocolate frappe while having nobody to talk to me. Changing locations can work wonders, I believe.

UNDERSTAND WHY WRITING IS VITAL TO YOUR LIVELIHOOD

Lastly, you need a little pep talk with yourself. Understand why writing is so crucial and why you must exercise your mind and put it in a direction. You must understand how your income is dependent on it and how you must shoo away procrastination and the lousy attitude to produce words. Watch motivating videos or meditate; talk to yourself and be determined that no matter what, you shall write. Gather up inspiration from reading someone else's work and stay away from everything negative, especially those things that are related to your career. Take some healthy time off but eventually, understand why writing is important for your livelihood. You must keep on writing.

The digital scenario seems to be changing with millennials quitting their jobs and starting their own businesses. Whether it is a start-up or freelancing their way to earn money, the newer generations are slowly turning independent. More number of people think that a full-time job is not their cup of tea and so they strive hard to come up with something that would help them stay away from a job. A few open cafes in partnership with their friends, a few take up photography and shoot weddings and the like, whereas a few espouse freelance projects like writing, social media marketing, graphic designing, coding, etc. This enables them to not have a fixed office and work from home, or at a coffee house, or even when they're travelling. This bunch is called the digital nomads.

Who is a digital nomad?
Digital nomads earn their bread and butter through e-communication technologies in a nomadic fashion. This lot works from any place, so whether it is cafes, co-working spaces, libraries, or even outside their own country.

For instance, in my case, I don't have a fixed office. I work from home, a resort, or sometimes even when I'm in the commute. I write blogs and promote my social media platforms remotely from any place, and at any time. I carry my laptop wherever I travel and start writing whenever I get the time. So you see, I neither have a fixed office nor fixed timings. I simply work whenever I have the mood (or whenever I have to meet a client's deadlines).

Because of my heavy dependency on e-communication, I need to be wise while picking my gadgets. I need to ensure all my needs are met and that the gadgets are travel-friendly (meaning they are lightweight and compact) and provide with my files whenever I demand. So if you're thinking of taking a new turn in your life, i.e., if you are planning to turn into a digital nomad, you need to have gadgets that suffice your requirements.

LIGHTWEIGHT LAPTOP WITH A GOOD BATTERY BACKUP

Few of the most important aspects while purchasing your travel laptop are its weight and battery backup. Even if you’re into heavy-duty designing/editing, get yourself a laptop that is lightweight yet highly functional. Meaning, your laptop should have enough storage space, a high-end graphics card, and should have a faster processor to avoid any lag while working. Considering these options might mean a more expensive product. But if you have that kind of money, then you can surely invest in a good laptop. However, if you don’t, then EMI is a good option.

For writers and bloggers, a basic laptop that’s lightweight would be ideal. I highly recommend the MacBook Air 13 inch laptop. Not only is it insanely lightweight, its battery backup is incredible. I own a MacBook Air 13 inch and I had bought it more than a year ago. Even today, the laptop stays put for hours together in spite of a heavy usage. For instance, last month, my laptop was at 100% and I watched two movies, two 45-minute episodes, and edited one blog post back to back, yet, at the end of all this, the battery was drained down to 23% only! I was using it continuously for two days and just see how brilliant its battery backup is! Also, the charging is quick too! Just put the laptop on charge for 15 minutes and the battery goes up to a decent percentage that can easily allow you to work for hours.

One major drawback of this laptop is its low storage space. So to tackle that problem, get yourself an external storage.

HARD DISK OR A PEN DRIVE

If you’re a photographer, editor, videographer, vlogger or designer, you probably require a lot of space to store your files. Due to the low storage capacity of my laptop, I could never save my old vlogs and had to delete them because of space crunches. However, I keep a hard disk with me to store (and reuse) old footages. I don’t require an external storage device when I'm travelling but if you have a lot of data, carrying a hard disk or a higher gigabyte pen drive is a must. Also, invest in a sturdy case to protect your hard disk.

PROTECTIVE CASES FOR YOUR DEVICES

This goes without saying but always carry your laptop in a cover. I carry mine in a laptop sleeve, which comes with a handle and an extra chained pocket to keep things like mouse, hard disk, charging cord, etc. I believe you should invest a little more in a laptop cover to ensure the laptop’s longer durability. Apart from that, if you have any other gadget like a hard disk, then get a case for that too, which would protect it from external damages as well as keep its wire organised. You can store your pen drives or additional memory cards in the hard drive case.

LAPTOP BACKPACK (INSTEAD OF A REGULAR ONE)

I know that the backpacks that come with laptops are not fancy and so you might think twice before carrying it on your trips. However, the good news is, you don't need to carry that boring backpack; instead, you can buy a backpack with a laptop compartment. You will get a ton of options, including your favourite colours and your favourite designs. It's not difficult to get such a backpack at all. I particularly deny regular backpacks because they don't have a space to store your laptop heedfully.

DATA TRANSFER CABLES (FROM PHONE/CAMERA TO LAPTOP)

If your phone or camera do not support WiFi or Bluetooth transfer for some reason, then you unequivocally require cables to transfer your files to your laptop. There are some cables that come with multi-ports so you can thus avoid carrying a bunch of them. Some of those even possess charging ports, which are a great bet.
What would you add to this list?
September 13, 2018 No comments
I love it when people approach me to write about a topic on the blog. A friend requested me to share my work trip essentials and I started jotting down points immediately. I remember my days when I used to work full-time and had to travel sometimes for work. I recollected the things I used to pack to ensure I am prepared at all times. This list does not include the obvious items like toiletries, towel, identity cards, money, etc. but focuses on clothing, accessories, makeup and other work trip essentials that you certainly can’t do without.

When you’re travelling for work, you are confused as in what to pack, what to wear, and how to be sure that you don’t miss out on anything. Instead of stressing on these points, I urge you to concentrate on your goals and leave the rest to me.

CLOTHING

A BLOUSE FOR EVERY OCCASION
When you have a couple of meetings to attend, carry a blouse for every meeting (if it falls on different days, that is). And, if you have an official night party, carry another blouse for that. To sum it up, carry one blouse for every occasion, so may it be a meeting or a party.

TWO PAIRS OF BOTTOMS – SKIRT AND A TROUSER
The number of bottoms depends on the duration of your trip. If it’s just for a night and two days, then carry only one pair of trousers. If it’s for a week – or more than three days – then pack a skirt and a trouser. Always keep in mind to pick universal shades so that they go with every blouse. The colours I love are black, grey, khaki, and navy blue; I think they look damn classy.

A GOOD SET OF PJS
I focus on the word ‘good’ because, on a work trip, you can’t just wear your faded PJs. And this holds true especially if you’re travelling with colleagues and are sharing your room. No matter how close your colleague is, it is simply not good manners to wear old pyjamas when you’re travelling for an official purpose.

CASUAL OUTFIT – FOR TRAVEL AND SIGHTSEEING
When you pack for your work trip, don’t forget to include casuals too. You would need them in the commute or for sightseeing.

ACCESSORIES

KITTEN HEELS
I recommend packing kitten heels instead of higher heels for one simple reason: it is more convenient to walk around. When you have a meeting, you don’t want to make it hard for yourself and concentrate on your feet. You wouldn’t want to worry about whether you’re walking like a woman or whether you slip because the floor was smooth or because, well, you were wearing a pair of stilettos! You’d rather focus on the meeting and the confidence you would need to nail down a deal.

BELLIES
You simply can’t walk in heels on all the days so you require a pair of flats. Bellies make a good pick as you can pair them with your casual outfit as well as on meetings. They’re better to walk in and can be more relaxing when you commute.

TWO PAIRS OF EARRINGS – PEARL AND DIAMOND STUDS
As for the jewellery, you can keep it minimal by wearing studs. I recommend a pair of pearls and a pair of diamonds. They are the classiest and most adorable pairs of jewellery, I believe. (If you have to attend a night party, then you can pack drop earrings too.)

METAL WATCH
If you don’t have a metal strapped watch, then I highly recommend you buy one. It’s a superb investment accessory and your work wardrobe is absolutely incomplete without it. My favourite is rose gold but silver and gold metals are equally good.

TOTE – FOR MEETINGS, SIGHTSEEING AND COMMUTE
I would vouch for a structured handbag for meetings, but since this is a work trip, you need to carry a multipurpose bag and the best pick for this would be a formal tote. You can wear it for work as well as for sightseeing and catching flights. The colours I love for a formal tote are beige, grey, brown, and peach. I don’t fancy black totes because they don’t look extraordinary.

BEAUTY

BASE & EYE MAKEUP
I don’t have a precise base and eye-makeup tips because every person has their own favourites. Just one tip for eye makeup though: keep it subtle.

LIPSTICKS – NUDE AND RED
A nude lipstick is like the holy grail of work makeup look so it’s needless to say that pack a nude shade. Also, you need some colours on your lips; so pack a red shade along. This won’t just suit your office parties and sightseeing but would look classy for meetings too. (Psst! Not sure about you but I love red lips!)

NAIL POLISH
Always carry the nail polish you’re wearing because chipping is the last thing you want. Honestly, chipped nails can bring you down! (At least that’s the case with me.)

ALL-IN-ONE WIPES – FOR MAKEUP AND NAILS
Multipurpose wipes are your best bet. They can take off your makeup, nail polish and act as a decent cleanser. If you don't find those, you can carry two separate packs – one for your nails and one for the face.

STRAIGHTENER
We all know that bad hair days are gloomy. So if your hair never supports you then don’t take a risk. Pack a straightener too. You obviously don’t need to straighten every strand of your hair. You can just lightly stroke and achieve semi-straight hair that looks put together. Frizzy hair is a big no-no on work trips.

OTHERS

LAPTOP
Even if your company does not provide a laptop, I suggest you carry your own. You might hesitate why should you use your personal laptop for office purposes but trust me, you would need a portable computer for checking pointers or for additional research at the 11th hour. For instance, you’re an hour away from the meeting and a vital point hits your mind. You can’t research for it on your mobile as the small screen could come in your way and double your tension. Also, if you have to make any last minute changes to your presentation, then having a laptop by your side is the only solution for it. A laptop is undeniably a super crucial thing to pack on a work trip.

STATIONARY – NOTEPAD, PEN, STICKY NOTES
At the end of a tiring day, when you sit down to prepare for another meeting, you feel like taking a notepad and scribbling pointers in it. You can’t always rely on digital devices as not only are they troublesome for eyes but also they need a battery to function. Having a notebook, pen, and sticky notes in a meeting lets you take notes easily.

MULTIPLE COPIES OF YOUR PRESENTATION
Last but definitely not the least important: carry as many copies of presentations and important documents as possible. Remember, there is nothing as “too many” when it comes to presentation files! I would suggest keeping one copy on a pen drive, one on your email, and one on your laptop.

Apart from these essentials, items like toiletries, towel, hair ties, chargers, inner wears, business cards, passport, identity card, money, etc. are unmissable. Also, when on a work trip, strollers look more appealing than the duffle bags or backpacks, so buy a small to medium size stroller if you travel for work often.

A couple of months ago, when I heard of Stay On Skill and their brilliant concept, I was honestly taken aback. I could see fellow bloggers boasting on Instagram about winning free stays and then after following their account, I could see a bunch of meetups happening which was conducted by Stay On Skill. At that point, I only wished to get to taste offbeat homestays myself at some of India's exotic locations.

The expression continued as everytime someone mentioned Stay On Skill or when the company's Instagram account announced travellers who were a part of certain meetup happening at a certain place; I could only sigh, and wished I was a part of this group someday. However, as luck would have it, two months back – in June, to be precise – I received a message on Instagram from Stay On Skill asking me if I was interested to be a part of their meetup and my happiness knew no bound! Finally, I was a part of this ever-growing family.

WHAT IS STAY ON SKILL & WHO CAN APPLY?

Stay On Skill principally has two legs: The skilled Travellers and the Hosts wanting to learn a skill. You can be the skilled traveller or the host and to apply for both, you need to fill a form.

If you're a skilled traveller who wishes to stay for free with verified locals, then you must share your skill-set with the hosts. And if you want to learn a skill (fancy baking red velvet cake?), you can host someone who knows the skill. The skilled guests share the knowledge with you by conducting classes at your home until you finally become a beginner in that skill. What's better is that neither the skilled traveller nor the host is a dummy; team Stay On Skill ensures all the participants are genuine. Also, if you're a host who doubts your guest's skills, then don't worry, as it is a prerequisite of this scheme to submit some proof of the skill in the form of a certificate or a video.

Who can apply? Well, anyone with a set of skills who wish to stay at someone's house for free. (And anyone who wishes to host someone in exchange for learning their skill.) This is especially for those looking for a local experience and learning the many ways of the domestic lifestyle. This is also a fantastic option to escape from life and fill the void of loneliness by spending time with a local family. This could especially benefit those who want to travel solo but are dubious of staying alone in a hotel room.

WHY SHOULD YOU CONSIDER IT?

By staying at someone's home, you learn the actual way of how things function in a certain locale. For instance, what do people living in the remote villages of Sikkim have for their breakfast, what time is their bedtime, what do kids learn at their schools, how are the raw materials acquired – and a plethora of questions that you always had on your mind. Living in a luxurious resort as opposed to living in a local homestay is what I feel is completely distinct. Of course, staying at someone else's house might not be as luxuriant, but everyone must experience local living at least once in their lifetime.

STAY ON SKILL HELPS THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

The aspect that hit me the hardest about my trip with Stay On Skill was the scheduled meeting that was to happen with the locals. I was impressed seeing the efforts put by Arjun Tuli – the co-founder of Stay On Skill – and his team to really helping the locals in brainstorming and putting forth pointers to actually provide aid to them. So you see, the meeting was not namesaked or shadowy; genuine efforts were put behind each word that was spoken in the meeting.

Through Stay On Skill, apart from benefitting the traveller folks, even the local community is largely benefited – so may it be inferentially or straightforwardly. In a huge gamut of today's travel business, the smallscale homestays and cottages are badly whacked. More flourished businesses advertise to blossom their brands and reach to a fair portion of people, however, the local businesses seem to have a chance only if certain someone spots their offbeat property and then the word spreads or a startup like Stay On Skill cruise out of their way to give the indigenous homestays the attention they deserve. I believe, a destination can be righteously enjoyed if you experience it the local way.

Stay On Skill lets people with skills – whether it is painting, teaching a language,  marketing, sharing the basics of a musical instrument, photography, coding or cooking – stay at a home for free in exchange for a skill! And, some of the houses listed are located in such a picturesque setting that you don't need to search for an offbeat resort; the aesthetics of these homes and the smile of the friendly hosts will provide you with just the apt experience you're looking for.

The best thing about this idea could be that everyone – not just bloggers or influencers – can avail free stays in exotic homestays. I have seen the way people react when I announce visiting a property in exchange for a review. Stay On Skill lets any of you stay for free; you just need to educate the hosts with the skill you possess!

HOW DOES IT WORK –

  1. List the skills: List the skills you are good at on Stay On Skill. It needn't be artistic skills like painting, sketching, dancing, singing, etc. You can apply to this program even if you are a coder, a blogger, a marketer (social media marketing works too!), a writer, a baker or a cook.
  2. Explore hosts: Browse the hosts in the cities you want to visit. The locations are dreamy and include some of India's exotic ones like Gangtok, Dharamshala, Ooty, Leh, and Goa, to name a few.
  3. Send request: Send request to hosts or experts when you find the right match.
  4. Travel for free: Get free stays in exchange for teaching your skill. You are required to spare about 1-2 hours of your day. (You can prep for your classes beforehand for being a lovely guest and a lovely teacher!)

After going through a horrible hair phase – which lasted for about two months – I finally thought of doing something about it. I applied a homemade hair mask that transformed my hair from dull, lifeless, thick, and rough to smooth, silky, and nourished hair. I was surprised seeing the result and loved looking at my hair in the mirror (which was contrary to what I felt for the past two months). I was determined to nurture my hair henceforth so finally decided to purchase a shampoo and conditioner meant for coloured hair.
Read: Homemade Hair Mask Treatment for Smooth & Bouncy Hair

When I coloured my hair at Enrich salons, my hairstylist recommended me the L'Oréal Vitamino shampoo, conditioner, and masque. After two months of the colour, I finally added the shampoo in my cart and tried it out.

ABOUT L'OREAL PROFESSIONNEL VITAMINO COLOR SHAMPOO

Colour radiance protection shampoo, specifically formulated for coloured hair, powered by  A-OX technology – a potent cocktail of UV-filters, a tocopherol derivative, panthenol and neohespiridine. Hair fibre is protected and colour radiance is enhanced, while gently eliminating residue and enhancing shine. Hair looks instantly softer and shinier, right down to the tips.

DIRECTIONS TO USE, APPLICATION, PACKAGING

The product comes in a shiny baby pink bottle. The brand, product name, and directions to use have feminine colours thus giving the product a classy touch. You just need to flip open the cap and squeeze down the bottle for the usage. Overall, I'm impressed with its packaging!

DIRECTIONS TO USE: Spread evenly through wet hair. Lather. Rinse.

CONSISTENCY & FRAGRANCE

The consistency is liquidy and has a fine lustre. The fragrance is delicious; it's towards the sweet side which makes your showering experience delightful and refreshing; the fragrance is a blend of fruity and floral, and I believe it's utterly aromatic! Loved the way it makes me feel!

HOW I TESTED THE PRODUCT + MY REVIEW

To test this shampoo, I wet my hair and used about two dollops of the product. I rinsed it off using warm water and then applied a small portion of the Amazon Series Tucuma Hair Conditioner after. I kept the conditioner for three minutes and then rinsed it off using cold water. I did not apply any hair serum thereafter.

REVIEW: To be very frank, I disliked the way my hair looked. They were smooth to touch, no doubt, but appeared dry and frizzy. For my own satisfaction, I shampooed my hair again after a couple of days, and used only one dollop of the product, and smeared a greater portion of conditioner. However, the result was same – my hair was smooth to touch but frizzy to look at. And then I wondered why this happened and sat with the shampoo bottle in my hand. I read the ingredients and instantly regretted wasting my money: the product contains sodium laureth sulfate – the worst enemy of my hair. I should have researched carefully before blindly buying this shampoo. I am still going to experiment with the quantity taken while I shower, and play with the quantity of the conditioner alongside too. I would even try if a hair serum does any good. I'm disappointed.

WHAT I LIKED

- Fruity fragrance
- The silky, smooth hair to touch
- The fact that my hair colour is protected
- The cute packaging
- Inexpensive

WHAT I DISLIKED

- Includes sulfates – a big NO
- The hair looks frizzy after application

TO SUM IT UP

You can clearly see in the above collage how dry and frizzy my hair look! The second image is from the next day after the wash, and yet, the dryness is so prevalent. Usually, I have nice hair a day after I wash them, as the natural oil from my scalp is released by then, thus making it well nourished yet clean. But after using this shampoo, I experienced frizziness even after two days of the wash. I don't recommend it even a bit, especially to those of you who have undergone cysteine/keratin treatment before and are looking for suitable shampoos. This product has sodium laureth sulfate, which can make your hair frizzy! Stay away from the shampoo, I plead.
