SHEGAON TRIP
My trip to Shegaon with the family was memorable. It was pleasant to spend time with my mom and brother (dad is out of town) and be close to each other. Though back at home we're close, living under one roof, Shegaon was more beautiful.

OUTFIT POSTS
My classmates will probably kill me one fine day, as every day, I ask them to click a picture of my outfit. The bad part is that they have to wait until I'm satisfied with the photos clicked. I can only ask them to relax by telling I need the photos for my blog and not any personal use.
Check out all my outfits this month:
Pink Kurta and Jeans
Four Outfits from the 4th Week
Twins Day - Similarity in Stripes
Mix & Match Outfit
Denim Jeans + White Tshirt
Black Saree
Corporate Black and White

COLLEGE DAYS
I'd thought that my College Days were over after graduation. Even after getting admitted for the postgrad course, I had not thought we would be having the College Days. But to my fortune, we did have the days and I celebrated all of them!
Twins Day
Mix & Match Day
Denim Day
Saree and Traditional Day
Black and White + Retro Day

GYM
For the past 10 days, I was unable to go the gym due to college's conference and Shegaon trip, but I'm sure I'll cover that up from tomorrow. Even my mom's joining my gym, so I'll have a gym partner too!

NEW RECIPES
I did try few recipes this month, especially, most of them were my creation and not taken from any website or cook-book. I tried Egg Curry, Almond Chocolate Mug Cake, Banana Chocolate Smoothie, Yogurt & Cheese Sandwich, and Omelette Oats this month.

BOOK HAUL
I really go crazy every time I see books. There was a book exhibition in my city for three months, and I purchased six books from it. I'm terribly happy!
Check out all the books in my bookshelf: http://goo.gl/sU5Sqn
Check out my new purchases: http://goo.gl/3tdfl2

NOT A PENNY MORE, NOT A PENNY LESS BOOK
Only 10 pages are remaining of this book and I am so eager to know the end. I'd reached the climax of this book and literally had dropped my jaw today, in train. Initially, I was so bored of this book as it talked about shares. But later, as the plot started moving faster, I started loving this book. And now after the climax, I just can't wait for the end!

What are your February faves?

1 | READ A BOOK
No matter if you're reading a less knowledgeable book like a romantic or a fictional one, you learn something out of every book. You can always finish reading the book that's lying in your bookshelf and pleading you to read it!
Here are my reads > http://goo.gl/Gn3VXd

2 | WATCH DOCUMENTARIES & FACTS ON YOUTUBE
YouTube is one place where you can watch almost everything. I love watching facts, historical things, and bizarre stuff. One becomes lot wiser after watching all these videos. It's a great way to learn new things, plus, real ghosts caught on tape are fascinating!

3 | WATCH A (GOOD) MOVIE
All the movies are good; but here, by good I mean movies like biopics, documentaries, and historical. Instead of picking up a rom-com, go for those movies that will make you wiser and invest your time watching a knowledgeable movie.

4 | START WITH YOUR ASSIGNMENTS
Remember that assignment which is due in the next month? You sure have many days to complete it, but your assignment will be way better if you start it right now.
Plan on your assignments using this printable.

5 | CLEAN YOUR ROOM
You're probably bored seeing the mess in your room. Sometimes, when I'm busy for many days at a stretch, my room gets messier. It becomes so bad that I feel demotivated to write my blog. I always clean my room once in a while to keep up the motivation and not feel lethargic.

6 | WASH YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES
This thing will take hardly any of your time. Clean those brushes with a mild shampoo and keep them up for drying. They'll make you feel much better as they'll look as good as new when you reuse them.

7 | TRY A NEW MAKEUP LOOK
Love those makeup tutorials on YouTube? Why don't you try one of those on yourself? What can be better than learning a new makeup look when you're bored? Plus, who doesn't love makeup?

8 | FINISH THE TASKS
Mend that white bag that's lying in your closet, stitch that gorgeous pair of black leggings, buy those shoes, or take admission at the gym. Finish all the tasks you've been procrastinating till now!

9 | CALL UP AN OLD FRIEND
One of the best ways to add some fun in your boring day is to call, message, or better yet, meet an old friend. You'll learn new things and it'll definitely turn productive and leave you thinking. Sometimes, when I meet old friends, I learn about their courses, their job profiles, or some tips that they use for the perfect eyebrow arch!

10 | CLICK PHOTOGRAPHS FOR INSTAGRAM & EDIT THEM (FOR BLOGGERS)
This one is exclusive for bloggers or those people who use Instagram on a serious note. For such people, Instagram is not yet another social media site, but is like a mini-blog. Arrange your products on a white sheet and photograph coffee, pens, flowers, and all the amazing things we love. Trust me, when you're running out of content for Instagram, these pictures will come in handy.

11 | MAKE AN EASY RECIPE
You're not bored, you're probably hungry. Make easy recipes like the Almond Chocolate Mug Cake or the Omelette Oats.

12 | SPEND TIME WITH YOUR GRANNY OR PETS
Both our grandparents and pets need some love. So when you are bored, they can be your best pals. Spend time with them and you will learn a lot of things.

13 | EXERCISE OR GO OUT FOR A JOG
Change into your jogging clothes and your favourite pair of shoes for a jog in the park. Call your best friend and it'll be funner!

14 | SOME DIY PROJECT
If nothing works, DIY projects will be your saviour. Grab all the stuff you have at home and make something interesting. It isn't just called best out of waste for nothing!
Here's a bunch of DIY ideas for you > http://goo.gl/yrWKU0

What do you do when you're bored?

This is a trial series. I'm thinking of uploading the outfits I wear to college on a weekly basis. Many classmates and college mates ask me about my clothes or accessories and from where I purchase them. I thought this was the perfect platform to share my outfit pictures. (Do comment below if you have any suggestions.)

As you can see, my outfit theme changes from day to day--sometimes it's classy formals for presentation and sometimes it's the desi look. I don't like to keep the theme constant, but love to play around with my looks.

So, here are my outfits from four days of college this week.

Often, we purchase a pack of butter because we have planned to cook a dish that requires butter. We hastily store the butter in a bowl and use it immediately in the recipe. This cycle goes on repeating. I have recently discovered this idea and I'm thankful I did.

When you buy butter, remove the crepe paper that comes along with it. Take a microwave-safe container (if you have a microwave oven) or a container that you can keep on the stove (if you don't have a microwave oven). Keep the butter inside it.
Once you've used butter, store that container inside the refrigerator (which you do, I know!).

The main motive behind this post is the 'microwave-safe' part. Now, when you have to re-use the butter, just take out the container from the refrigerator and microwave it for 10 seconds. Your butter becomes perfectly soft and is ready to be spread on the bread without any hassle. My butter container can be seen in this and this post.

Try this trick and let me know if it works for you!

This cake is so yummy and I'm glad that it's my own recipe. I made it for my cousin brother, as it's his birthday today. I could not go down and get a cake for him; so I made one at home. I had made this twice when he'd come home, and he'd loved it. I can't wait for him to come home and cut it (well, eat it). I'm still gonna insert a 'Happy Birthday' banner in it as well as one candle. I'm terribly excited!

Anyway, here's presenting this delicious mug cake recipe:

Anand Sagar is near the Gajanan Maharaj temple in Shegaon, Maharashtra. If ever you visit Shegaon, you must visit this place too. The place is gorgeous, and above all, it's green and clean. You're not allowed to sit on the grass that is meant only for beautifying the gardens. However, there's a part of the grass where you can eat and have a great family picnic.

The fact that there is entry fee of Rs. 50, makes the useless, random people not come often. If the park was free, you'd found cheap people loitering around, and then it would have been difficult for the care-takers to maintain the beauty of the park.

Inside it, there are green lawns, lake, children's amusement activities like slides and swings, canteen, and a mini train that takes you around the park. The entry for the train is Rs. 15, and trust me, it's worth every rupee. The train is not like the typical old, congested train, but a good, sturdy one, which accommodates adults easily. We were in it for more than 10 minutes and it had soft music playing the whole time. It's even more amazing if you try the train in monsoon, as the park would be twice greener. If you're with kids, you must definitely sit in it.

It's a nice place for couples, but don't expect any kind of privacy. It's a pleasant, green place, and both of you would get to spend some quality time together.

I'm sharing few pictures from the park, so that you get an idea:

Thank you xoxo

I'm gonna write an account of my trip to Shegaon, Maharashtra. It's 556 kilometers away from Mumbai.

My mom always wanted to visit Shegaon, only because of the temple of Gajanan Maharaj. My maternal grandmother was His devotee and she had had an amazing experience. My mom had visited this temple 24 years ago, and was yearning to visit again.

We travelled by a Howrah Mail while going and returned in an Amravati Super Fast Express. We had booked the tickets in December, thanks to the Indian population; it is very difficult to book a ticket and get one on the spot. I was just praying the dates don't fall on any of the important events. Luckily, my college's two-day conference was on 19th and 20th February, and we were boarding the train on the 20th.
I left my college at 5:45 pm on the second day of conference. After resting for some time and having dinner, my mom, brother, and I left for the station. I caught the train from one of the suburbs of Mumbai.

We took a second class ticket and were already pissed because the crowd in second class can be indisciplined, indecent, or sometimes, cheap. After entering the train, we saw three men sitting on our places. We told them that those seats belonged to us, and they said okay, and shifted towards the window-side. We were a bit uncomfortable and took some time to adjust.
My brother was reading Dongri to Dubai by Hussain Zaidi and I was browsing through social media. Next station arrived, and to our happiness, a family entered our compartment. Those three men got up and moved somewhere else, and in our company, we had a chubby little baby, his parents, and his two young uncles. We were so delighted to see his moves and the way he tried to destroy the dinner the family was having!

Shortly, I went up on the upper berth, and my mom and brother, on the opposite side's middle and lower berths respectively. I had set an alarm of morning 5:00, as we were to reach by 5:30 to Shegaon. I had heard a lot about Shegaon's beauty, and was imagining the same.
We woke up and packed blankets and other electronic gadgets that were lying on our berths. We got down at the station, and it was pretty serene, at 5:30 am. I was wondering how stations in Mumbai would be at this time!

We got down the stairs to see auto drivers desperately trying to win passengers. We had heard that near the Gajanan Maharaj's temple, there is a place to live, known as 'Bhakt Niwas'--direct translation being 'Devotee's Abode'. We could get a place to live in one of the rooms there, and that the stay was not an issue. Therefore, we asked the auto drivers for this temple, and one of them took us there for Rs. 50. In Shegaon, the auto-rickshaws don't run on meter, but on seats. So, the seats could be Rs. 10 or Rs. 20 per person, varying from auto to auto.

We reached the Bhakt Niwas, but all the rooms were full. In fact, 200 more people were in the waiting list. We searched for other hotels nearby, and found more two to be full. Finally, we came on to one, but it looked too shady--one of those hotels where illegal things take place. That's what I assumed that hotel to be. The rate of that room was Rs. 1000, and my brother refused the offer immediately.

Adjacent to it, there was one with the name Rajashree Palace. The room was for Rs. 1,200. Though it was more expensive than the previous one, this hotel looked decent and the room was big too. Honestly, we needed a place to shower, as we cannot enter the temples without having bath.

As soon as we reached, we slept for an hour and half, and woke up feeling fresh. We had shower and changed ourselves in a pair of fresh clothes. I was in a Kashmiri pink kurta I had purchased from Dalhousie, blue Forever 21 jeans, and a pair of golden jhumka. I was also wearing a navy blue coloured bindi, brown leather watch, and my black Ray-Bans.

We left for Gajanan Maharaj temple. We walked towards the temple, and on our way, we stopped at a restaurant for tea and breakfast. I took a masala dosa, my mom took an onion uttappa, and my brother was having a spicy plate of misal pav.

We walked further and entered the temple. We were surprised to see the beauty and the way it was managed; brilliant work, I must say! After the darshan, we had maha-prasad, which was a tasty lunch.

We purchased a frame of Gajanan Maharaj, to place it in our Pune home. We also purchased prasad to distribute to friends and family. It was too sunny on our way back to hotel. We reached our room at 1:00 pm and woke up at 3:30 pm.

We had to pass our time somewhere until our train, which was at 9:00 pm. So, as recommended by my mom's friends, we went to the nearby Anand Sagar gardens, and did not regret a bit. (I'll write a post on it soon.) I had worn my morning's pink kurta, and was half-sleepy while I wore it.

We took an auto to this garden. The garden was impeccable and a must-visit if you're in Shegaon. It's clean, beautiful, and green. By 6:30 pm, we left for our room, again by an auto. We packed our bags, and checked-out of the hotel at around 7:30 pm.
We walked towards the temple, and had dinner. I was quite full so I thought of eating just the famous Shegaon Kachori, and my mom thought the same. My brother had a masala dosa, while we went ahead to hunt a store that sold fresh kachoris. My mom and I went to a restaurant, but the kachoris were not hot. So we ordered just one and gulped it down our throat somehow.

We went to another local store, that sold only these kachoris. The name was 'Teertharam Karamchand Sharma-Shegaon Railway Canteen's Original Kachori'--in case you visit Shegaon and want to know where we had them. The kachoris were delicious, and we ordered two. We also took two as parcel and I'm craving for some more right now!

After this, we had ice cream in Radhakrishna Ice Cream Parlour and took an auto to station. We reached there at 8:30 pm, and unlike morning, the station was full of tourists. Our train came at 9:00 pm and we got into our compartment.

The scene inside the train was happening and I loved it. Though it was a second class, people were decent and cheerful. An office group was sitting in our compartment and they were having fun. We slept at 11:00 pm, and woke up in the morning at 4:45 am. Actually, our station was to arrive quite later, but due to few over-prepared co-passengers, we woke up much earlier, and literally waited for an hour near the door until the station arrived!

We got down at one of the suburban stations and took a train to my home station. We reached our home by 7:00 am, and slept. I woke up at 12:45 pm, and got such a peaceful sleep.

(Sorry if there are any grammatical errors or an error in the syntax of the sentence; I'm too tired for good English.)

Goodnight! x

I love styling my home. If becoming an interior designer was possible (or open for me), I would have loved to become one. But, this degree requires good sketching and good maths, the former being difficult and the latter being something I detest.
But, if I'd gotten a chance to work with an interior décor magazine, I would have been delighted. Like I mentioned, I love styling!

Here are few of those things you'll need to style your home, and make it look like one of those in magazines:

CURTAINS

PILLOWS

WALL HANGING

FRAMES

VASES

PLANTS

FLOWERS

BIT OF PRINT

WALL DECOR

DECORATIVE PIECES

Do you have any of these at your home?
