The Pretty City Girl | Indian Travel & Lifestyle Blog

Hey there! I just came back from Pune; I had gone there for my cousin brothers' thread ceremonies. Last night, we had a society-function on my building's terrace, and so I slept at 1:00. And I got up at 5:15 in the morning as the muhurta of both the ceremonies (they combined the ceremonies) was at 10:30. We had to leave from Mumbai at around 6:30. Just imagine how less I must have slept. I pity my dad more, as he drove the car to and fro.

Coming to the post, this is the final check-list you have to make before the year 2015 hits our calendars. See to it that you tick all the items off this list. Keep everything aside and make this list.

  1. That one thing that you desperately wanted to do, but you didn't. Do it right away.
  2. Make resolutions and try to follow them. I know resolutions are made to NOT to be followed. But you can make such resolutions that are possible. You cannot expect to lose 5 kgs of weight if you lead a lazy life or a hectic life. Make such resolutions that are really possible. No matter you decide to lose 2 kgs in a year...that is fine. You will be happy after losing even 2 kgs; trust me.
  3. Plan your goals. Just write down simple, long-term, and big (or small) to-dos in your planner or notebook. By the way, you can always use your phone to jot these things down. These goals can include getting a better job, buying a gift for your mom from your first salary, saving money, etc.
  4. Buy an agenda/calendar. Buy something of 2015 before the year begins. You need to have something in front of you for a planned life. You can even make a calendar of your own by using this guide.
  5. Say sorry and thanks. You know there are many people to whom you want to say sorry, but you can't. Gather guts, and tell them that you are sorry for whatever you did that hurt them. Also, say thank you to all your closed ones and gurus (teachers).
  6. Clean and organize stuff at your place/work/car/cellphone. Clean the house, clear that junk, and welcome 2015 with a big smile. Remove all the negative things.
  7.  Confess your feelings/mistakes/opinions. Just say those words, and chuck everything else. You don't have to worry what will happen next. Say it, and erase all the aftermaths in 2014 itself. Begin 2015 anew.
  8. Mark your weaknesses, lessons learnt, and your strengths. If you properly think, you will realize that you did have some weaknesses in 2014--some of your traits that hurt people, bad habits, ego, selfishness, wrong attitude, etc.--mark them and see to it that you overcome them. You must have learnt lessons as well. You must have understood how certain people treated you, how you must behave, what you shouldn't do, etc. in the whole year; take a note of them and keep them in your brain forever, until you die. Also, don't forget to know what your strengths were. All those things that pulled you off from an obstacle or a problem are very important. Keep these strengths with you...and let them benefit you.
  9. And lastly, don't forget to ENJOY the night of 31st December, 2014. No matter where you are, how "lonely" you are, with whom you are...you are enjoying the last few minutes of 2014; well, it is my order. Plan the time/party/sleepover with parents, best friends, better-halves, friends, colleagues, college/school mates, grandparents, building friends...or simply alone...reading a book or watching a good movie. You have to enjoy it; promise me that, please!

Goodnight!!
Hugs and Kisses.

Just four days left for the year to come to an end. I thought of compiling all the favourites of the year 2014 according to months.

January
After organizing the event of last year's new year, the new year of 2014 started on a happy note. Our SYBMM's Industrial Visit was at Udaipur. More than the IV, the best thing was befriending a classmate named Rutuja Nagwekar. Now she is a loyal best friend, and the one to whom I can run any time for problems, especially problems related to college. I feel grateful as I got the opportunity to be her best friend. She has brought immense amount of positivity in my life.

February
The best thing in February was reader's responses. I got many mails to post stuff on TPCG. Apart from that, the new and improving collection of stationary and Valentine Day roses are favourite part of February 2014 as well.

March
Though March happens to be my birthday month, it isn't really happening. I always have exams around my birthday and so my birthday isn't really oh-my-God-the-best-day-of-my-life.
However, there are two amazing things that happened in March--a set of highlighters from Kores as a token of thanks and a pair of Forever 21 wedges.
(Okay, and to an extent, the way I studied for finals was an awesome thing too!)

April
The results of the Semester IV were out, and I stood FIRST!!! I was unimaginably happy! This is probably the best thing of the whole year.

May
CHINA SHOPPING. I was in China in May. And irrespective of what great things happened in May, I'm gonna completely ignore them, and just write 'China Shopping' under this list. Though I did not shop shoes or bags, I did buy lots of things. And yes, I did buy bags online from a Chinese store.

June
I visited China! I was totally happy. China was splendid to me, and I loved the country so much.

July
UK!!!!!!!! I had never imagined I would visit UK. And on top of that, I visited Emirates Stadium. I still don't believe I stepped in the stadium! I cannot assure myself that I was there. While we were landing, my mom and I couldn't just believe we were about to land in UK. I mean, do you understand what I want to say?
I am so happy, that I don't even believe I was there.

August
The best thing about August was definitely Ganesh Chaturthi. It is one of the best times of the year.

September
You guessed it right. TPCG completed one year. I was proud of myself for writing the blog for one whole year continuously. Well, it is one year, three months now!

October
Diwali time. I know finals began just after Diwali...but whatever; Diwali is indeed a great festival.

 November
I developed the habit of managing expenses in November. This is one of the good changes in me that happened in 2014. Maintaining expenses (and saving money) is indeed something essential for being a good and organized person.

 December
My dad returned from China, and after many months, we four are staying together again. I love when all the four are home. Basically I am a family person. I like when I'm with my family. Be it my parents and my brother, or my cousins and other relatives. Family Time is my favourite.
Another distinct feature of December is Trips. I went on two trips--one to Igatpuri and the other to Konkan--and I am going Pune on the 29th for my cousin brothers' thread ceremonies. So I guess I am all roaming and wandering in December month.
(Also, I am in love with the bags that my father got for me from China.)

This was the year 2014 in points. What are your 2014 monthly favourites?

My Christmas break is going on and so we decided to go for a short trip! My dad has returned from Shanghai and it is a family-bonding time! Sadly, I was not keeping well throughout the trip and couldn't even dip in the pool! Sometimes I truly hate being a girl (if you know what I mean).

However, I wish to come back here again and make the full use of the swimming pool and other amenities.

So we went to this amazing Manas Resort, which is situated in Igatpuri. The resort lies on way to Nasik and is a must visit for a relaxing stay. It has a lovely natural essence that makes it even better. I can't write more on the trip now since my cousins are home to meet dad!

I am sharing some pictures from the trip:

I love red and white combination. As it is Christmas, I thought of compiling all the possible red and white nail arts for you girls.
(I don't like nail art, but I am posting this for the interested lot.)

Have you tried them?
