The Pretty City Girl | Indian Travel & Lifestyle Blog

Why is it always that when anything happens, people blame the girls? When anything related to marriage, divorce, relationships, pregnancy, rape, etc. comes up, why is the blame always shifted on the women? What about the men?

I happened to get wind of this particular story, where I learnt that a young married couple has given each other a notice of divorce. On that, the person who was telling me this story later sighed, saying "Girls these days are horrible."
Girls?! Hello?! What if the man has had an extramarital affair or harassed her to have sex or didn't allow her to chase her dreams or forced her to cook/clean? You fucking don't know what the matter is, you don't know the reason behind their divorce, and yet you accuse the girl? Wow! I salute your petty mentality.

Why? I don't understand why do people always blame women? The other day I was talking to an older relative in my house, and I was telling how a certain boy has had affairs with lot of girls. On that, the relative said that girls should know what kind of boy he is; they see money and go behind him. Why girls? What about that boy? His character wasn't accused? Why only girls? What about him? He cheats and double dates and breaks up with girls, but the relative didn't say a word against him. Instead, how girls should carefully judge a boy was advised to me. Huh?

What kind of a fucking shitty world we're living in? With people having such shitty mentality and such disgusting attitude towards women. You assholes, have you forgotten you have sisters, mothers, wives, girlfriends, daughters that are all women? And you other bunch of stupid cowards, you have forgotten that you yourself are a woman.

Don't let these petty, nonsensical, patriarchal thoughts dominate you. Use your brain and think about the issue.

Your thoughts?

If you're like me, who absolutely loves hearts, then you might be struggling for such wallpapers. As soon as you type 'heart wallpapers' in the search bar, you come across those cheesy, annoyingly ugly graphics. I went deep into the results, and selected few 'not so cheesy' desktop wallpapers. So here's the set of your lovey-lovey wallpapers...because it's the month of love!

Psst! All the pictures are taken from Google and are not mine. I've just compiled these gorgeous wallpapers together.

I searched for its picture/review online, but there's no such product seen anywhere. I guess this is a newly launched and not a single beauty blogger know about the launch, it seems. I wanted a good kajal in less price, which I got in the name of Streetwear Eyeliner Kajal. The introductory offer has ₹11 off, so the cost is affordable to any girl out there! Read further for a detailed review:

PACKAGING
The eyeliner kajal comes in a stick, where you rotate the bottom to get the product out gradually. The stick is black with silver fonts embossed on it. Overall, it's a good looking product.

APPLICATION, LASTING POWER, & LOOK
The application is smooth. With one stroke, the colour is a bit less intense, however, after one stroke with pressure, or two strokes, the colour looks just like any other kajal in the market (which is definitely pleasing). The line, as you see in the picture, is not sleek, but is not too thick either. It's a perfect product for everyday eye makeup (especially for college students). It lasts for enough time, so no worries.

PROS
- Inexpensive
- Smooth
- Does not smudge
- Perfect for everyday use
- Waterproof

CONS
- No talks about it anywhere yet

WILL I BUY IT AGAIN?
Yes, just hoping the introductory ₹11 off stays for few more months!

CONCLUSION
If you're getting a standard kajal pencil for little less, why won't you buy this one?

EXTRA DETAILS
WEIGHT: 0.30 g
SHADE: Kohl Black
PRICE: ₹140
FROM: Local Beauty Store

Which is your favourite kajal?

14th February for the world is Valentine's Day, but for my parents, it's their wedding anniversary. This year, they completed 30 years of married life and I'm so lucky to have them. I was watching this episode from the 8th season of Friends yesterday, where Ross gives a toast to his parents on their wedding anniversary saying, "If in 35 years, we're half as happy as you guys are, we'll count ourselves as the luckiest people in the world."

To celebrate their anniversary, we sent them away to Matheran, which is one of the prettiest hill stations around. If you see my history right now, you'd only find Matheran resorts everywhere! The place is not even that far and makes for an excellent getaway at very short notice!

However, my parents were at Aurangabad for some family-related work before that, so they would be flying from Aurangabad airport to Mumbai and then from there to Matheran by road. It'd be a crazy trip, but whatever, their married life has been crazier!

They're flying by Delta Airlines, which had the best deal around that time. In case you're wondering if I and my brother are with them, then you're wrong, we've strategically said them no! My mom wouldn't leave us "alone", but I convinced her that I can cook and take care of the house.

They have another couple with them, which they'd met 30 years ago on their respective honeymoons. Thirty years of friendship--something almost unimaginable for the present generation! Damn, so good, I can almost sense the thrill of having closed ones around!

How are you celebrating your Valentine's?

For those couples that are still chilling, but yet want to make the V-Day a special occasion, head on to read some last minute celebration ideas:

Long Drive
Take a long drive to a nearby romantic spot. Make sure that you choose a spot with less crowd so that you get some time off to yourselves.

Road Trip
Go on a road trip with some good-humoured songs in the car. Wear those shorts, the tanks, sunglasses, and hat--have a fun road trip, you two!

Visiting the First Date Spot/Restaurant
Several years ago, you met the love of your life right here; go to that place again, and enact how your first date was. If possible, wear those same outfits too!

Proposing for Marriage
Always were struggling to find a great day to ask her hand for marriage? Valentine's Day could be the much awaited day. I'm sure she's gonna love even a dry proposal; after all, you're the one that's more important to her than the balloons and confetti.

Making it Official
Why to hide if you're truly in love with each other? Make it official on this day. Confess to your parents or update your relationship status on social media.

Cruise/Boat Ride
Going close to the nature can get really romantic. Go for a ride in waters.

Special Love Making Session
Candles, body massage, whatever you two want, do it.

Sending Dirty Messages throughout the Day
Long distance relationship? How about getting kinky through phone? Send dirty messages all day long, and have a sultry valentine's.

Staying Indoors and Ordering Pizza
Stay in your good ol' face with pyjamas and order pizza at home. Also, watch two movies back to back--the one you love and the one he loves.

Movie Date
Go for a movie date like you used to. Order soft drink and popcorn. Followed by that, go for dinner!

Camping
Go for camping. You only need a tent, food, and #wanderlust.

Cooking Each Other's Favourite Meal
Two meals at once? Sure!

Getting Inked
Get similar looking tattoos and don't ever do anything stupid that would want you to regret getting inked. Stay faithful.

Romantic Candlelight Dinner
And one of my favourites, going on a romantic dinner date. Search for the best romantic restaurants in town and take your valentine there. Wear a lacy dress, and you gentleman, wear her favourite shirt.

What are your plans for Valentine's Day?

I'm just hoping you guys haven't read my yesterday's post; because if you have, then this post will be like deja vu--only that I'll talk in details about my current fitness routine.

MORNING
I hate milk, and I detest warm/hot milk. But now I make it a point that I drink a glass of milk every morning. After I'm done brushing, I drink water. After few minutes, I take milk in a glass and add Shatavari Kalpa. I don't add sugar because Shatavari does the job. After milk, I eat whatever breakfast my mom has made.

AFTERNOON
After lunch, I consume green tea. It's usually an hour after lunch that I gulp it down my throat.

AT GYM
This is the main reason why I'm writing the post. After I stretch, I run on the treadmill for 2 minutes at the speed of 90 (9 kilometres/hour). After the timer is 1:45 minutes, I start feeling incredible--a bit dizzy and a bit sore. Those 15 seconds are the most challenging seconds of my life.
You have no idea how much fats I've lost due to this running. It's crazy! If you're looking for weight loss, run on treadmill. For the love of your future slim self, run on the treadmill!

AFTER GYM
After gym, I usually snack on a sandwich and banana. The sandwich is made of cheese slice, ketchup, and wheat bread.

What's your fitness routine?

Nine days have passed, but it's never too late to set goals. For me, February always equals to Valentine's Day; it's weird, but yeah. So what are my goals for the ongoing month?

College related
I had a big submission on the 6th of Feb and did not have much time to work on that. I came from my best friend's wedding (which was in Karnataka) on the 2nd, so I had four days to finish my work. Thankfully, we had to email it before 7th Feb, that is, we had to do it by 11:59 pm on the 6th. I submitted it by 11:00 and my joy knew no bounds.
Also, not that this personally matters, but we have a college conference too in February.

More outfit posts
I just want to showcase as many outfits as possible. February's been busy till now and well, it's gonna be busier. Hoping to shoot more.

Valentine's Day related posts
It always happens that something huge (like a festival) is round the corner and I'm busy a week before that. Due to which, I cannot focus on writing posts related to the spotlight of the month.

Continue the fitness routine
Right now, my fitness routine includes drinking a glass of milk with Shatavari Kalpa in morning. Then after lunch, drinking a mug of green tea. And, in the gym, running on the speed of 90 for two minutes. This running on the speed of 90 for two minutes has helped me lose so much of fats, you guys have no idea. I can see myself thinned down because of it.
I am finding this routine too helpful, and though I can't hit the gym everyday, or forget to drink green tea once in a week at least, this routine's doing wonders on my body. I gotta continue doing it in February.

Finish watching remaining seasons of Friends
I will finish the eighth season today and hoping to finish remaining two seasons in this month. Not that I'm looking forward to finishing the series, because I love it, but I want to watch it. Simply adore watching Friends!

What are your goals for Feb 2017?

At last I got a chance to write about my front-runners of last month. 2017's beginning has not been as grand as last year's beginning was. But, I still got these couple of favourites that cheered me up:

JocoVerve
The most favourite thing about January was the inauguration of my online store. We sold over 30 products and in February, 10 are sold out already. We're doing great and I'm glad to know. In case you're new here, follow it on Instagram right now.

Photoshoots
I'm loving all the outfit shoots we've done last month. I've hired my cousin Pratik as the official photographer of TPCG and JocoVerve too. I'm relieved to finally get one for TPCG. He's not a photographer, but he takes some really good pictures. He knows about framing and the best thing is that he doesn't get tired or bored while the shoot is on. He also drives me to shoot locations!

Bhandardara Road Trip
A weekend getaway is always cherished. The company was good, the place was good, the day was good.

White Sneakers
Finally got a pair of white sneaks, whew! I was looking for a good pair since long.

Planner
How helpful this friend has been. Friend? More like a daughter. I created her and now she's helping me in life. Proud mother I am!

How was your January?

I think that more than the perfectly fitting hoodies, the oversized ones are comfortable. Finally, after years, I tried on a loose-something and it was terribly great to relive those tomboy days. I thought that instead of buying an S--which is my perfect size--I should go with an M. The result was mind blowing. It was like a warm bear hug!
If you're looking for comfort and style, all in one clothing, you should definitely try Bewakoof.

You get quirky stuff there. What amazed me more is the attentive packaging. The box that the hoodie came in was thick and the plastic wrap had a superior quality too. I mentioned this because not many companies care about packaging.
In addition to this, the hoodie is thick and something that would surely promise you to keep warm. Loved the quality in all and I would recommend you girls to try their hoodies.

I'm sharing outfit that I made out of this snug hoodie.

Also, take a look at this pretty watermelon designer mobile case, which again, I got from Bewakoof.com

Hoodie | Bewakoof.com; Leggings | JocoVerve Store; Clutch | Taobao.com; Shoes | Flipkart.com; Mobile Case | Bewakoof.com; Earrings | Avon; Rings | JocoVerve Store; Bracelets | JocoVerve Store; Nail Polish | Nykaa; Lipstick | Lakme

Bewakoof.com also has a splendid range for all you men; you got Marvel t-shirts (yes, that's right), jeans, tees, shorts, and athleisure clothes!

Would you dare to buy an oversized hoodie?

It was an exhilarating, fun road trip with my postgrad college seniors. When they were still students, we had hardly ever exchanged words, but after they passed out of the college, they became close-knit with my best friend, Amrita. And as Amrita and I come in one package, they asked me out for a road trip too. Initially, they had planned for an overnight stay at one of the tree houses in Lonavla.

This was the first time I was hanging out with them. I knew they were funny, warm, and welcoming, so I was not in two minds whether to go or not.

It was decided that we all meet in Mulund, since Chirag, the one who was gonna drive and owned the car, lives there. We started from Mulund at 8:00 am. It was an i10 and we were five. Needless to say, we sat perfectly, with no space issues. My mom had come along with me to see off (because I was not well and I needed a company). She met my seniors and Amrita.

In the backseat, me, Amrita, and Prachi, my stunningly pretty senior, were sitting; and in the driver's seat, it was Chirag, and next to him, Prashant.
We listened to songs during the entire road trip.

Our first halt was for breakfast at Shree Dutta Snacks. I just had a wada pav and tea, while others had thalipeeth and sada dosa. This Sadguru hotel is pretty famous as we had to wait for a table. After breakfast, we resumed the journey.

When we were nearing Bhandardara, we stopped here, as it was a bisque barren land, and we thought we could click nice photographs here. Unfortunately, we didn't have the zing to pose. We clicked some awkward photographs, which you can see above.

After inquiring with random locals, we finally stepped on the shore of Bhandardara. It was a weekend, so there were many travel enthusiasts camping by the lakeside. We imagined us camping there some day. But for us, our only dream for the moment was getting into the lake and probably splashing water on to each other.

Sadly, I could not go deep in, as I was on period; it had started at 3 am; yes, Aunt Ruby and trips don't make a fun combo.
I went in water until my knees were wet and I was just sighing all the time. I came out and sat on the rocks nearby. Funny, how I had to lie saying, "I have not carried a pair of pants, so I cannot get fully wet."
All the people that know me well, know how mad I am about water bodies. I have to go deep in, I have to get wet, I have to be inside for more than an hour. But my seniors must have thought I am a mundane person with no admiration for fun.

Nevertheless, I watched them enjoy, and it was refreshing to see that. Water bodies always make me happy.

We sat on the rocks--me, because I had no option, and them, because they had to dry themselves before getting in to the car.
We were too hungry by now, so we took a lunch stopover.

I had visited this hotel before, some 9 years ago, with my family. The MTDC hotel. It looked as though it was just a couple of years back I was here. I immediately clicked a picture of the backyard garden and sent it on my family group. They were surprised too.

After hogging on yummy butter rotis and enticing Punjabi dishes, our tummies had no more space. We clicked pictures here and after they changed into fresh, dry set of clothes, we left for home.

On our way back, we came across this mysterious place. It reminded me of those green exotic scenes they show in Disney movies. We clicked lot of pictures here, and this was an exciting halt.

When we were near Mumbai around 9:00 pm, we took several breaks. It was clear that none of us wanted to go home...
