Instead of adding checkboxes and ticking them off, you can strike off the done tasks. As you know, there's a feature in MS Word to strike off, namely Strikethrough, things become so easy.

For a subject this semester, we have to study from the syllabus provided by the university. While studying, I just stroke off all those topics I completed.
