Day Out // Vaastu Shaant

by - December 19, 2013

I came home, just some time back. The day was long, and the journey, longer.

Vaastu Shaant is a Hindu custom of purifying the house (mostly new) or to carry out a Pujan, to shoo away the bad spirits (if any). So I had been there, for my cousin brother's house, for that!

So basically this post is about 'What I Carried' to this short and traditional journey...

The outfit I'm wearing in the photo was only for travelling purpose. We hired a mini-bus, and the journey was two hours long. So I thought of wearing my casuals, instead of Punjabi suit.

These were the things I carried to the event (there's a photo posted on Instagram): handbag, hoodie and the camera bag.

These are the things inside my handbag. Not always do I find my luggage perfect, but this time, well I sort of did.

A closer look. The stuff is divided into two compartments: one, Punjabi suit and the scents; and two, other miscellaneous things.

Things inside the handbag-

  • Travel multi-purpose kit.
  • Handkerchief
  • Earphones
  • Swiss Knife
  • Versace Versus Red Jeans Eau De Toilette
  • Secret Temptation Candy Deodorant (got it from my aunt today!)
  • College Id Card
  • Wallet (beneath the card)
  • Charger (not in the picture; was on the charging point!)
  • Punjabi Suit (not in the picture)

Things inside the Travel Multi-Purpose Kit-

  • Roots Comb
  • Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara
  • Maybelline New York Colossal Kajal
  • Colorbar U.S.A Naked Pink Lipstick
  • Earrings
  • Lakme Radiance Compact Natural Pearl for Fair Skin
  • Clean and Clear Face Wash
  • Meilin Eyeliner
  • Ganrier Light Daily Moisturizer
(Out of these, I used only the comb, earrings, Kajal (kohl), moisturizer and face-wash!)

What are the things that you carry in your handbag for a traditional event like this?
