Women-Centred Bollywood Films That I Have Watched

by - September 21, 2014

Well, well. I have watched many women-oriented films, but to name a few, I have made a quick list. I was home alone today till 7:00 pm, so I wasted my time watching movies and munching; therefore I did not have enough time to think on a topic. I realized it around 8:00 that I was topic-less, and that I needed an alternative badly.

So, here's it. I'm a sucker when it comes to reviewing movies/books. So I'm not gonna talk anything cool here, but just about the movie.

Chak De India
A retired hockey player coaches a team of aggressive, young women for Hockey World Cup.

Mardaani
A crime branch inspector rebels and catches criminals involved in sex trafficking of young girls, thus freeing hundreds of girls.

Gulaab Gang
A true story of a village woman who fights against injustice done by the corrupt politicians, thus showing women power, with many women by her side dressed in Gulaabi (Pink) colored sarees.

English Vinglish
A middle-aged woman visits her sister who lives abroad. She surprises everyone in the end who constantly talk how 'illiterate' she was.

Aisha
This is one of my favorite 'girly' movies in Bollywood. Aisha, a rich, Delhi girl, tries to be a cupid and persuades people to fall in love with each other. However, in the end, everything turns hitherto and thitherto.

7 Khoon Maaf
A woman marries seven men and kills them. (Watch the film to know more!)

Mary Kom
Ah! This is a true story of a legendary Indian boxer MC Mary Kom.

Khoobsurat
I watched it just yesterday. It is a movie about a funny physiotherapist bringing back smiles on the faces of a Royal family.
There are two reasons why you need to watch this film: A fairytale ending and Fawad Khan.

Fashion
A movie based on the life of modelling industry.

Heroine
Movie based on the life of actresses.

Kahaani
An NRI woman flies to India in search of her husband.

Bobby Jasoos
An over-the-board movie about a girl aspiring to become a jasoos (detective).

Which films will you add to this list?
xoxo
