Mutter Paneer

by - June 20, 2015

Hey! Today I cooked for every meal. I cooked Faraali Pattice for breakfast, Amti (Dal) for lunch, and this delicious Mutter Paneer bhaaji for dinner.
Everybody at my place loved the bhaaji, including me. So here's a different style of making Mutter Paneer*:

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes
Cooking Time: 20 Minutes
Serves: 4
Veg/Non-Veg: Veg

  • Paneer Cubes - 2 Cups
  • Frozen Green Peas - 2 Cups
  • Salt
  • Green Chillis - 3
  • Red Chilli Powder
  • Turmeric Powder
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Coriander  Powder (Dhane Powder)
  • Oil
  • Tomatoes - 2 large
  • Onions - 2 large
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste - 1/2 Tbsp
  • Lemon Juice
  • Garam Masala
  • Water
  • Fenugreek Leaves (Methi) - 1/2 Cup

Special Utensils Required:

  • Tissues
  • Mixer

1. Chop Paneer into cubes.
2. Deep fry them until they turn golden-brown. Keep aside.

3. Chop half onion, and make a paste of remaining 1 1/2 onion.
4. In a vessel, put oil, fenugreek leaves, green chillis cut into half, ginger-garlic paste, and chopped onions. Saute until the onions turn brownish.
5. Add onion paste, and a bit of salt. Saute.
6. Add tomato, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and mix well. Mix until the oil surfaces, and tomatoes get mashed up.

7. Add green peas, mix well.
8. Add 1 cup of water, and let the bhaaji boil properly.

9. Add paneer cubes. Mix.
10. Add 2 cups of water, stir.
11. Add salt, coriander leaves, garam masala, lemon juice; stir.
12. Taste and add if anything is required.
13. Let the bhaaji boil.
14. You can add fresh cream if you like!
15. Garnish with grated paneer.
16. Serve with hot rotis, pickle, and raita.

P.S. I apologize for the bad quality of images.
