I wear high powered glasses, which are around 3.05. I'm on the computer most of the day, especially if I'm at home. Even in my college, we have lectures on a white screen and sometimes on the blackboard/whiteboard. And other times, I am on my cellphone.
I'd checked for my eyesight a month ago and was saddened to know the increase. However, until I gave a brand new glasses to make, I was using my old glasses which were of around 2.75. (My left eye is weaker than my right and I'm talking about my left eye here.) As vacations were on, I was on my PC whole day. This pained my eye and finally, I went to the optician to get myself a new pair of glasses.
I also want to confess that I used to not wear my glasses 24x7, but only when I used any electronics like PC, TV, cellphone, and for screenings of matches, inside theatre, and during lectures. My optician did scold me for this and I obviously knew I was not being right. I might as well lose eyesight until I reach the age of 40 with such attitude! I somehow detest the idea of wearing glasses all the time, as I hate to have them on my nose. I tried contact lenses but failed to try putting them on my eyeballs.
A solution to all the problems? A better looking frame with glasses that protected eyes with my sworn enemies, the electronics.
When I went to make myself a new pair, I'd checked my eyesight again. While conversing with the optician, she asked me about my usage of gadgets. On that, I told how I'm a writer and how I'm on the PC most of the day. She recommended me glasses that were made to protect eyes from the rays emitting from the screens of these gadgets. I thought the idea was good but back in my mind, I knew that it could be expensive.
I used the sample glasses they had and saw the difference--the bluish purple rays from a regular white light were now toned down and I could see the white light as somewhat off white. I couldn't make the difference standing there and using glasses that were not for my eyes, but I was convinced to go with them. I got Crizal Prevencia--The First Smart Blue Light Blocking Lens. The cost of it was minimum Rs.3,200 or so. The total cost of my glasses, i.e., frame plus lenses, went up to Rs.5,570.
I also had given my previous black frame for the regular anti-glare lenses and the cost went up to Rs.900. So total, I spent Rs.6,470 on two glasses (one with the digital protection, and one without it.)
I don't regret this at all. The new frame is smart, brown, and has large cat-eyes shape. I purposely purchased brown because brown is lighter than black. When you wear black glasses, your face is hidden behind them. I took brown because I thought I could wear them all the time.
Okay, so I guess the main reason why you're reading this post is to know whether these digital protection glasses are any useful. The answer is, yes, they are. Earlier, after using a gadget, especially my cell phone at night, my eyes used to pain. But with these glasses on, my eyes are much relaxed. So, if you guys are heavy users of digital gadgets, I definitely recommend these!
If you guys have any queries, feel free to ask and I'll try my best to answer them.

When the maid is absent, sometimes my mom asks me to do the dishes. I happily do it as I love washing dishes. There's a reason for that, though; I love washing them because of the lemon flavoured dish wash liquid. But, there's another reason too--I absolutely love the process I follow.
In this guide, I am going to share how to wash dishes in proper steps to get an organized outcome. The process might be lengthy, but you'll absolutely love doing more dishes.
You'll need to start this process with different types of utensils:
In this guide, I am going to share how to wash dishes in proper steps to get an organized outcome. The process might be lengthy, but you'll absolutely love doing more dishes.
You'll need to start this process with different types of utensils:
PLATES
In order to get an organized outcome, you'll have to follow the below mentioned process in groups. First, start with all the flat items like plates, dishes of various sizes, saucers, pans, etc.
LARGE VESSELS
All the vessels in which you cook and have some depth come under this. Once you've arranged plates and other flat objects, go on with the heavy stuff.
CUPS AND GLASSES
Take extreme care while washing cups, glasses, and mugs as they could break while you do so.
BOWLS
In India, we have small sized bowls in which we serve daal or other liquid green leafy vegetables. While washing big bowls of cereals and noodles, include these small bowls too.
SPOONS
Under this, not just spoons but all the longer looking objects include. Serving spoon, ice cream scoop, forks, knives, etc. come under this.
Once you know the types of utensils, go ahead with the process:
CLEAN WITH WATER
Firstly, grab utensils according to their type and wash using plain water. For example, wash plates and other flat dishes using water and keep them on the platform near the sink. Do this with all the plates.
SCRUB FOOD PARTICLES
If at all a utensil has those stubborn food particles stuck, take a scrub and remove them.
CLEAN USING LIQUID SOAP AND SCRUB
Now, my favourite step. Take a bit of liquid soap on the scrub, wet it, and clean all the utensils that are washed.
RINSE WITH WATER
Rinse the soap as thoroughly as possible. I recommend not using the gloves as you won't be able to sense whether a utensil has been properly rinsed off or not. For spoons, glasses, cups, and mugs, be sure to put in more efforts while rinsing as our mouth comes in direct contact with these utensils.
KEEP UP FOR DRYING
Now, our trick of washing utensils as per similarities come in handy. While drying, make sure to organize the utensils in such a way that your kitchen platform looks neat and clean. Keep the dishes and plates upright with a slant towards the wall. Keep large vessels near the plates, in an upside-down position. Keep cups, glasses, and mugs near the wall for safety measures. Keep bowls near the edge of platform. And lastly, keep all the lengthy items together, wherever there's enough space.

What's your process of washing dishes?

If you're one of those who hate doing dishes, it's probably because of the dish-washing soap. I do have a soap at home, but for me, we have purchased a dish-washing liquid. Yes, that's right; the secret to doing more dishes is the lemon flavoured dish-washing liquid.
Once a while, when the maid is absent, my mom asks me to wash the dishes. I don't ever say no because of the magical lemon flavoured potion. Cleaning utensils with that is a bliss, as the aroma it leaves is incredible. All types of smell are gone and only two things are left behind--super clean utensils and the mind-blowing aroma.
These liquid washes are any time better than those soaps/bars. The soaps have a disgusting smell and one does not get the urge to wash dishes. But with the lemon flavoured liquid wash, you're instantly energized and can do more and more dishes. (I can tell because I used to hate washing utensils before the liquid wash had come into my life.)
We had got free samples and that's when I fell in love with it. I have used lemon flavoured dish washing liquid by Vim and Godrej, and both are stunning. I recommend Vim, though.
Do try this and let me know the results. I will be uploading a step-by-step guide to washing dishes too, so in case you're not sure yet, you would want to read that post!
Which dish washing agent do you use?

Near my house, a new store has opened that sells medicines, juices, biscuits, toiletries, etc. I am in love with its interior and posh service. I always wanted to buy something from the store, well, something in abundance. I like shopping from departmental stores, and this store is a kind of one.
Today morning, I had planned on going there and shop medicines, biscuits, powder, sanitary pads, and the like. Before going, I checked my medicine/first-aid box and made a list of medicines to buy. That's when the idea of writing a post on this stroke me.
I have written down a step-by-step guide to organize medicines.
THINGS YOU'LL NEED
- Large Box
- Small Rubber Bands
- Medicines
- Stick Note
- Long List
- Pen
- Pair of Scissors
- Double Sided Tape
STEPS
1. Organize medicines according to their type.
2. Keep all the unrecognisable medicines in the box. (You can ask your parents about them and throw away accordingly.)
3. Make a list. Write down the names of medicines that are about to get extinguished from the box.
4. Buy those medicines.
5. Cut the used parts of the medicine-strips, thus paying attention to whether the name is getting cut or no.
6. Compile together medicines of each type using rubber bands. I have separated them in following categories:
a. Acidity/Gas
b. Cold
c. Diarrhoea
d. Pain Killers
e. Fever
f. Periods
g. Headache
7. Put the medicines in the box.
8. Label the box using stick notes and tape.
Your box is all ready in case of emergency!
How do you organize medicines?

We all have been there. While changing pillow covers, we realize how bad our pillows are in real--with all those sweat, tears, and saliva stains. I hate to see the pillows in that condition.
To avoid having these stains, you need to cover your pillow with two pillow-covers. Yes, that's right. We all have old covers at home, waiting to be thrown out. You can first put on an old pillow-cover on your pillow, followed by the new pillow-cover. That way, your pillow is protected from all kinds of direct stains.
You can wash the old pillow-cover once in a while, but not as frequently as you would wash a new cover. I use this trick of two pillow-covers and my pillow is thankful towards me!

I've been waiting many days to add this tab on my blog. I had many posts tagged as beauty or fashion, but finally, I decided to collaborate the two and make it one big tab.
I have also changed positions of the tabs and have deleted the 'Inspiration' tab as I thought it was not needful any longer.
The tab 'Organization Tips' was earlier 'Organize Yourself'; I renamed that too. Overall, I'm happy about the little but crucial change. The header and the change in tabs have refreshed the blog and I sometimes purposely open it to experience the change just one more time!
Do let me know what you feel about it. Thanks! x

I'm so happy to announce that TPCG has a new header! The theme is same, i.e. black chevron stripes, pink colour, and beautiful fonts. Just the arrangement is different and the breadth is lesser. I wanted a header that appeared like a banner. I designed it just today and was too excited to post about it over here!
